Add CD-player as a Music Source

Just thinking, because of a question asked by mcwarlockbot at the HA forum [link], is it possible to add a CD-Player as a new or dedicated filesystem, or something like that?

Would be a good addition to the Open Home Foundation's sustainability principles, right?

FYI, this feauture request does not apply to the duplicate one. It's about using the local CD player (like an VM CD-player) as a seperate dedicated filesytem to used by Music assistant (for example).

If you can mount it in linux then maybe it is possible.
