PDK Dev Call Updates – November 10th, 2025

Armin

• Spent last week at BRW; identified potential collaborators and volunteered to lead the open-source "chain-analysis" working group.
• Continued reviewing outstanding rust-payjoin PRs.
• Will continue to pair with Nothingmuch on the transaction-construction simulator.
• Boston BitDevs Thursday takes up some bandwidth

Ben

• Had intermittent connectivity issues last week.
• Opened PR adding BIP21 receive support; BIP21 send support PR is next. Got comments from Manuel and Pythcoiner
• Considering a smaller upstream MSRV bump PR.
• Receiving product and engineering review feedback from the Liana team.
• replace ureq with reqwest on ohttp-relay needs approval to run CI Remove ureq and replace with reqwest ohttp-relay#71

Chavic

• Progress on UniFFI primitives (Refactored int primitives with BigInt support and bounds checking Uniffi-Dart/uniffi-dart#83).
• Rewriting parts of the integration test suite.
• Reproduced an issue reported by another contributor; fixing it also resolves Payjoin issue #???
• Dan asked why external issues were addressed first -> Payjoin exhibited the same failure mode, so solving it benefits both.

Dan

• BRW attendance and interviews (Trust Revolution podcast).

• Marketing efforts with Bitcoin Magazine and Atlas21.

• BRW feedback: narrative around Payjoin + multiparty Payjoin is unclear; perception that the effort spreads resources thin.

  • If true, fix resourcing; if not, fix the narrative.

• Core bottleneck: developer relations -> next focus should be DevRel

• Moving grants from ecosystem partners into the foundation treasury before endof the month

• Pushback at BRW: multiparty Payjoin may seem too interactive and double signing is not great; people questioned user motivation.

  • Potential Solution from nothingmuch: use simulation results to show the batching and feerate advantage and tell the user story

• Reviewing BTrust grant applications to provide reference

Nothingmuch

• Spent the week researching gossip and consensus patterns for v3.
• Using the Payjoin Directory + rate-limiting credentials as a stand-in decentralized broadcast overlay.
• Reading about gossip & consensus, figured out how to bootstrap "things" using the payjoin directory and rate limiting credentials as a broadcast channel before a decentralized gossip-based reliable broadcast is available
• Continued pairing with Armin on the transaction simulator.
• Started drafting a blog on future direction and architecture.
• Vibe-coding a TFHE-rs (Taurus FHE) boolean-circuit prototype for silent payment scanning (for fun + skills).
• Planning monthly vibe-coding mob sessions and inviting others to participate. example projects include:
  • TEE based signing with LEXE team
  • Electrum over OHTTP
  • Silent Payments TEE based scanner
  • Many more proofs of concepts
• Discussed narrative adjustments to better target different audiences.

Spacebear

• Coordinated with the Bull Bitcoin exchange team on integration strategy.
• Typescript bindings are required; an existing TS plugin can be reused.
• Currently the blocker. once bindings land, BB can proceed with integration work.
• Making progress on Bull Bitcoin integration tests; some changes originate from the new 1.0 integration test suite. They want exchange integration on their next sprint.
• Came to Bitcoin Research Day on Friday

Zealsham

• Implementing fallback demo in payjoin-cli WIP:Demonstrate failure handling with fallback TX broadcast #1164
• First version matches on API errors and falls back based on error type.
• Tests still needed.
• After stabilization, we’ll evaluate this approach against alternative error-handling strategies with Armin and Spacebear
