Portainer and Docker 26.1 / 27.x ?

Quick one? Does the portainer support Docker 26.1? https://docs.docker.com/engine/release-notes/26.1/

I upgraded by accident, and it is NOT working for me. I am getting this error from Portainer:

WRN github.com/portainer/portainer@v0.6.1-0.20240312222218-6e11c10bab52/api/platform/platform.go:70 > failed to retrieve docker info | error="Cannot connect to the Docker daemon at unix:///var/run/docker.sock. Is the docker daemon running?"

The agents seem happy though...

Update to this, re-deploying the entire stack seems to have fixed the issue...

Normally just running:

docker service update portainer_agent --force
docker service update portainer_portainer --force

Resolves my issue, but I had to completely remove portainer, it's network and redeploy it.

So.... Yes? it's working?

Essentially if you need to support Docker 26 and above, we recommend updating to the 2.20 branch. This branch is a STS (Short-Term Support) branch, so make sure you understand what that means before updating (and take a backup first!). For production environments, we recommend staying with Docker 25 or below and the Portainer 2.19 branch.

I will bump that one. What is a story with 27.1+ ? I did upgrade looks it works but any official tests?

This applies to Docker versions 26 and above - I've edited my above post to make this clearer. The upcoming 2.21 LTS will include full support for Docker 27 (and 26).
