Looking for feedback on an open-source project exploring reusable interactive STEM components

Hi everyone,

I’m an independent student developer working on a small open-source project called Open Lab Components:

This project was inspired in part by the broader spirit behind PhET and interactive STEM learning tools.

My goal is not to recreate full educational simulations. Instead, I’m exploring a different layer: reusable, embeddable web-based lab components that others can integrate into their own learning tools, lessons, or experiments.

I was pointed here and also encouraged to share the project as a discussion, so I wanted to ask a few questions from the perspective of people familiar with SceneryStack and interactive learning tools:

1. Do you think reusable interactive components can be a meaningful complement to full simulations?
2. From a framework and interaction-design perspective, what makes this kind of component system genuinely useful?
3. Are there particular ideas in SceneryStack that would be especially worth studying for a project like this?

I’m not looking for a formal evaluation — just a few thoughts or pointers if anyone is willing to share.
