Welcome to another edition of the z/OS Open Tools Digest.

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our z/OS Open Tools linkedIn group.

Newly Ported Tools to z/OS:

• Gitlab Suite of Tools: (Thank you Joon Lee)
  • gitlab-runner – enables running gitlab CI/CD jobs on z/OS. More info can be found here
  • gitlab cli - A GitLab CLI tool bringing GitLab to your command line. For more info please visit the link.
• prompters - A collection, growing, of shell scripts to guide/prompt the use of various shell commands. Thank you Lionel Dyck for all the efforts. More info here.
• Nats – an open source messaging system. Thank you Vignesh. For more info please visit the link.
• fq: About jq for binary formats - tool, language and decoders for working with binary and text formats. For more info please visit this.
• zlib-ng - zlib replacement with optimizations for "next generation" systems. More info here.
• doxygen: Doxygen is the de facto standard tool for generating documentation from annotated C/C++/Python sources. For more info please visit the link.
• osv-scanner: OSV-Scanner provides an officially supported frontend to the OSV database that connects a project’s list of dependencies with the vulnerabilities that affect them For more info please visit.

There are significant improvements in GPG and Bash. We strongly recommend you to upgrade these tools.
