Any plans for Desktop version of custom T2 Linux?

One reoccurring idea i have in mind to build a desktop version of T2 Linux with Window Manager XFCE or even TDE

That cool , but honestly i don't have resources to pull this out! Desktop is a huge thing and yes should you have money and like to invest into 6 month project ( with 5 full time software engineers) to have very nice and clean Linux desktop , based on already established tech with one year maintenance contract , i would sincerely consider it.

Wayland or X.org?

Wayland tend to be mainstream and is ok, i personally Xorg veteran, but again money talks , if your prefer Wayland then Wayland that is.

Steam support for gaming

Its totally possible, again money talks.

Future

As we continue to strive for Linux desktop , there things like VR , native game engine support both Unreal , Unity, multimedia edition studio tools.

My idea of perfect gui is usage of JavaFx for portable user applications, sure QT can be used too, but QT apps are more work then fun, Java is powerful and performance wise at same plane like QT. Plus should we have such ecosystem , other distros may pick app our applications, and we would have even bigger reach then our small custom distribution.

Certain things already happened and working, windows users would like to have theirs standard software ported into linux desktop, even things like C# and .Net stuff , at some point maturity can be reached, but i suggest that whoever invest should decide what to build and we at Orlovsky Consulting GbR do the necessary work and deliver.
