This is great — thank you for writing it up! The Shortcuts-app route is the best way around iOS Safari always defaulting home-screen links to the site root, and the bonus is that (unlike a normal Add-to-Home-Screen) the URL stays editable afterwards. I'll link to this from the docs so other iPhone/iPad users can find it. (Also a heads-up: the next release tidies up the Quick Add date field on iOS, which you flagged in #235.) 🙏 |

Creating a Home Screen shortcut directly to the “Quick Add” page does not work automatically on an iPhone.
However, there is still a relatively quick and simple workaround using Apple's Shortcuts app.
Using the Shortcuts App
With the Apple Shortcuts app, you can create your own shortcut that opens a specific URL. The advantage is that the URL can be edited later if needed.
Open the Shortcuts app and tap "+".
Select Add Action and search for "URL".
Add the Open URL action and paste the Quick Add URL.
Set a name and icon for the shortcut by tapping the shortcut title.
Tap the shortcut title again and select Add to Home Screen.
You now have a Home Screen icon that opens the Quick Add page directly.
