i have long gave up on my PRs getting merged long ago, the maintainer has even disabled issues recently on this repo. You may want to try spatie laravel comments as an alternative |

In many spatie packages you can change the model class used.

This allow possibilities such as attaching model events, like for example after a comment is created, I may want to send email notifications
