This is due to a bug in tb_optparse. The function is trying to figure out if a given character array is a valid linespec, so it looks for various characters and symbols. When finding them, it deletes them. The problem happens when it finds multiple valid linespec characters in a regexp search, since then the inputs b and e to s(b:e) will be vectors. This is an easy fix, as you can simple iterate, i.e.

instead of

   s2 = [s2,s(b:e)];
   s(b:e) = [];

do this

for j = 1:numel(b)
   s2 = [s2,s(b(j):e(j))];
   s(b(j):e(j)) = [];
end
