Install
- Unzip the whole zip into a folder of its own, for example Documents. Don't run it from inside the zip.
- Double-click S.U.N. Studio.exe in the S.U.N. Studio folder. Python and every library are inside; nothing else to install.
- If Windows says "Windows protected your PC", click More info, then Run anyway. The program is new and not signed by a paid certificate.
"Read me first.txt" in the folder has the first steps, and https://sunstudioapp.com has a step-by-step guide.
What it does
- Stacks mono SER videos (drizzle, darks, flats and bias), or imports a folder of stacked 16-bit TIFFs
- Scores the frames, rejects soft and cloudy ones, and aligns the rest to a reference
- Grades them: sharpening, a solar tone curve from Auto stretch (positive or inverted), prominences and the limb, colour palettes
- Mosaics, north up, sunspot labels, a heliographic grid, measurements in km, transit finding, the CME check
- Exports MP4, GIF or 16-bit TIFF frames, or a single still
