Don't include "src" and "public" folders by default

I'm trying to use snowpack to build a frontend for my java spring boot app, but I'm having an issue because snowpack always includes the "src" and "public" folders when it builds. This conflicts with my project because Spring Boot (and I think java apps in general) already assume your java code is in the src folder. When I run snowpack build all of my java code is getting copied into the _dist_ folder. I'd like to be able to control these defaults and just put all of my frontend code in a folder called frontend or something similar. It seems like src and public are good defaults for snowpack dev but snowpack build should be more customizable and let you specify something different.

Thanks for filing. Create Snowpack App templates are configured to act as standalone apps, so you'll need to create your own snowpack.config.js file to handle the custom mount behavior that you're describing: https://www.snowpack.dev/#configuration

I'd love to see an easy way use something else then src. I develop Node.js apps with the backend in the same repo and currently have to use src for frontend while I would prefer if I could have for example a frontend folder for snowpack sources and backend for the Node.js code.

If you aren't using Create Snowpack App, then you can mount whatever directories you'd like:

Ah, that's a really smart script, but I think you want it to be a "run" script, instead of a "build" script. Build assumes that the output of the cmd is the new file, which could explain why you're not seeing anything written to disk. Try a run script that does a cp copy if that single index.html file and see if that works. https://www.snowpack.dev/#connect-any-script%2Fcli

I tried the "run-script" plugin, and unfortunately it doesn't work because it runs before the build, and not after. So, it copies index.html before webpack does any bundling. I think this would work if I could configure the "run-script" plugin to execute after the build, instead of before. Or, if there was some way to configure any html files to be output into the templates directory instead of static, that would also work.

It sounds like a solution for you would be to pass some sort of entrypoints: [filepath1, filepath2, ...] to the webpack config, telling it your exact set of HTML file entrypoints to bundle. Althought I'm not sure about how you'd get the file copied back out to the templates directory. Honestly, you may want to create your own plugin that takes advantage of the optimize() or cleanup() hooks to do this simple copy at the end of your build: https://www.snowpack.dev/plugins

I came up with a simple solution! Rather than finding some way to make Snowpack move the .html template into a separate directory, I just ended up configuring Spring Boot to look in the same directory for the .html template as the rest of the static resources.

This is exactly the piece of information I was not able to find on the main page. If it is there already, I think that adding a nothe on the quickstart like "look here if you don't want to use the default input directories" or something like that.
I didn't found a single word about the default directories by the way, it is not mentioned anywhere that you have to create a public and a src directories in order for snowpack to work.
