What's New

A bug-fix release focused on reliability:

  • AQE hooks run on Windows again. Global installs no longer fail silently. Re-run aqe init to refresh existing hooks. Verified with a simulated Windows environment; Volta users can set AQE_HOOK_BUNDLE.
  • No more hangs on stalled servers. LLM providers, Ollama embeddings and the Ollama/OpenRouter consensus providers time out cleanly, and RateLimiter.wait() can no longer wait forever.
  • Safer by default. Option-shaped git refs are rejected, hook and daemon files can't be redirected through symlinks, generated tests stay inside your project, and the session journal survives a full disk.
  • Correctness fixes. Retried tests target exactly the right test, aqe test generate writes every test, Cargo test counts add up, and cognitive complexity follows the SonarSource rules.
  • Quieter fresh projects. One clear warning replaces the RVF error when no embedder is configured.

Heads-up:

  • Cognitive complexity scores are much lower than before (a one-time drop).
  • aqe test generate keeps existing test files unless you pass --force.
  • MCP domain tools accept saveResults: false.
