I've tries to reproduce your problem without success.
From your video I see that the first time the floating window to start inking appears and then dissapears:
can you try this sequence (and possibly make a new video):
a) ensure ppink is not launched.
b) start ppink. go to the options. disable "start floating window" and then re-enable it.
Is there any crash. Does the floating window reappears. Same position It flashed first? how is the opacity ?
c) save the floating window position in the options. try to reproduce the problem
d) if no error go back to the options and same the ini file. Close ppink completely. restart it and check if floating window stays at power on. type to reproduce the problem.

--> I disable "show floating window" --> Restart --> OK

OK, everything works fine now. The problem seems to be related to the floating window's transparency.

For completeness, I'm inserting these lines into regedit.

This could explain the problem. If you set "EnableTransparency"=dword:00000001 this should work.
