banda Android · safe areas and updated icons
Android arm64 update from main commit 8490d6d.
- Keeps the app viewport clear of Android's status bar, navigation area, and display cutouts, and resizes it for the keyboard.
- Replaces the template launcher icon and splash screen with banda's face.
Install the APK over the previous Android release to keep your pairing. It is signed with banda's existing release key and has a newer Android version code. The displayed version remains 0.1.0-alpha.2; this candidate is identified by its release tag and checksum.
Validation: Android build and unit tests, lint, type checking, and web build passed. The full suite passed apart from a permission fault-sweep timeout during a long machine suspension; that unchanged sweep passed on rerun. API 36 emulator pairing-screen bounds were checked. Real-phone keyboard and rotation acceptance remain open.

banda v0.1.0-alpha.2

Before you start
- Docker is required. The agents' computer runs in a container. Install Docker Desktop, OrbStack or Colima (macOS),
Docker Desktop (Windows) or Docker Engine (Linux), and start it. Without it banda runs, but says its computer is off. - These builds are unsigned.
- macOS: open the app once, then System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway. Or run
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/banda.app. - Windows: SmartScreen → More info → Run anyway.
- macOS: open the app once, then System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway. Or run
- A home from another version won't open. Before 1.0, banda changes how it stores things without converting them.
If the app says so, rename~/.bandato keep it and start fresh, or go back to the version that made it.
The command line
Unpack the archive, put its banda/bin folder on your PATH, and run banda serve. It brings its own Node.js.
banda --help lists the commands. The desktop app and banda serve share ~/.banda. If banda serve is already
running, the app opens it instead of starting another, and quitting the app stops it.

Download banda-0.1.0-alpha.2-android-arm64.apk on your Android phone, open it, and allow installation from your browser if Android asks. In banda on your computer, open Settings → Devices → Pair a phone. Open the phone app, scan the code, compare the computer code, then approve the matching phone code on the computer.
Includes the final pairing, frame-isolation and identity-persistence review fixes. The APK is signed with banda’s release key; SHA256SUMS identifies the exact download. Build provenance: https://github.com/purrgrammer/banda/actions/runs/42133031253
This is an Android pre-release candidate, separate from the existing desktop alpha.2 release. API 36 arm64 emulator pairing, app restart and desktop/phone UI checks passed against a throwaway daemon. Real cellular hardware qualification remains open.
