Linux-Terminator-setup

This is my fancy terminal setup with all the windows splits and colors and what not

Install Terminator

I use terminator for my main shell beacuse it comes with all the options i love

    apt update
    apt install terminator

Now i use my terminal for pentesting a lot and zsh as i use it is not the best for getting reverse shell so once installed terminator if you plan to use it for pentesting just open terminator and follow along dont do this on plain old bash as i use bash for my reverse shells that should be good.

sudo apt install gettext intltool python-six python-cairo python-psutil
  apt install python3-pip
  pip3 install python-pyutil

  For python 2
  apt install python-pip
  pip install python-pyutil

the above commands will let terminator search for keywords in the terminal outputs like vim.

Now this is the third thing i do

  • Right click select prefrences goto > colors select green on black
  • Now you have to turn on logger and Terminator shot under plugins
  • Make scroll to all the infinite scrollback

Now lets make it preety

To make it preety i use Oh My ZSH with some plugins

sh -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ohmyzsh/ohmyzsh/master/tools/install.sh)"

After that to make it easier for you i will copy my .zshrc file here so you can copy it to your .zshrc file but first delete everything in it althogh you can read the documentation yourself and make your own zshrc this mostly the deafult with a bunch of plugins for zsh.

# to know which specific one was loaded, run: echo $RANDOM_THEME
# See https://github.com/robbyrussell/oh-my-zsh/wiki/Themes
ZSH_THEME="agnoster"

# Set list of themes to pick from when loading at random
# Setting this variable when ZSH_THEME=random will cause zsh to load
# a theme from this variable instead of looking in ~/.oh-my-zsh/themes/
# If set to an empty array, this variable will have no effect.
# ZSH_THEME_RANDOM_CANDIDATES=( "robbyrussell" "agnoster" )

Errors ?

you probably now have two errors when you open your terminator window beacuse those plugins arnt found paste in the below commands and restart your terminator you should be good

git clone https://github.com/zsh-users/zsh-autosuggestions ~/.oh-my-zsh/custom/plugins/zsh-autosuggestions\
git clone https://github.com/zsh-users/zsh-syntax-highlighting.git ~/.oh-my-zsh/custom/plugins/zsh-syntax-highlighting
