weather on taskbar not matching wttr website

I woke up my pc for the morning about 10 minutes ago. I have web sources set to update every 5 minutes just in case.

*By the time I finished writing this post, the taskbar weather updated. It still appears to show cloudy instead of rainy (sometimes it is hard to tell), but at least the temperature is updated. I would still like to know how long it should take to update the taskbar upon waking, because I was under the impression it should update immediately. Alternatively, if there is a way to force an update, that may be acceptable.

The data comes from wttr, so it's an issue on their side. Some discrepancies have been reported in the past, and at some point the author said that it's fixed. Perhaps the issue isn't fully fixed.

I see from your posts that the issue persists. Please try the following mod version with a workaround, let me know if it helps:

To try it, disable the existing mod, then click the bottom right button in Windhawk to create a new mod, replace the code with the test mod code, click "Compile Mod", then "Exit Editing Mode".

Looks like the website doesn't return the weather at all now, example:

Only the main page somehow works.
I'll improve the mod to ignore the empty text in this case.

Definitely not right. There is snow in the forecast this afternoon 😅 (It did say 33F earlier, not sure why it randomly updated to this.)

The website is loading very slowly these days, but when it did eventually load, it did not match the taskbar.

Just the other day, the taskbar displayed text as if it was unable to retrieve data from wttr.in. So it seems there are communication issues. I was wondering though, if the html is accurate, is there a way to use that source?

Are you using the mod with the workaround that I posted? It tries to bypass caching so that up-to-date info is returned, but of course, if the website is not accessible at all, then it won't help.

Regarding fetching the information from the main page, or from any other source - you can do it manually by using "Web content items" in the mod options. Currently I don't plan on making the mod fetch and parse the main wttr.in page.

Yes, this is the locally edited mod with the workaround you sent me.

Currently the correct information is displayed (toggling the mod worked this time(, but if I experience this problem again, I may have to use a web source, I just wasn't sure wttr.in would work as it is not an RSS feed.

Any web page works, but you'll have to configure it to extract the right parts.
