Open Windhawk, go to the Explore tab, search for Windows 11 Taskbar Styler, and click Install. I have a working standalone mod; I will see with m417z if I should release it alone or integrate it into any existing mod. But the tutorial above should work in the meantime. |

Hello m417z,
First of all, thank you very much for creating Windhawk and for all the work you put into maintaining it.
I recently installed your Disable Taskbar Thumbnails mod, and it solved one of the most annoying usability issues I had with Windows 11. It works perfectly.
While using it, I thought about another feature that could be useful.
Would it be possible to create a mod (or add an option) to disable the hover tooltips that appear over the Windows 11 System Tray icons (Clock, Network, Volume, Bluetooth, etc.)?
These hover popups often appear directly under the mouse pointer and can temporarily block clicks on nearby interface elements.
In my case, I use Windows 11 as a live control workstation while performing virtual concerts in Second Life. During performances I move the mouse very quickly between several applications, and these tooltips sometimes appear exactly where I need to click. Even a very short interruption can be inconvenient during a live show.
I completely understand that these System Tray tooltips are probably implemented differently from the taskbar thumbnail previews, and perhaps Windows doesn't make them easy to disable. However, if it is technically possible, I believe such a feature would be useful for many users who prefer a cleaner and less intrusive taskbar experience.
Thank you again for your fantastic work. Windhawk has already made Windows much more pleasant to use, and I really appreciate the time and effort you dedicate to this project.
Best regards,
Olivier
