Why does Redis use CRLF in its protocol?

CRLF is generally only seen on very old printers/teletypewriters, and of course on DOS/Windows. So why does Redis use it in its protocol now? I was reading the documentation on bulk strings (as linked from the ACL GETUSER page) and I'm shocked to see CRLF instead of LF or NUL.

It's the same question that why HTTP use CRLF instead of LF in its protocol. As for NULL, I guess it's not friendly for display on terminal or typing

I think that's because HTTP is legitimately super old and also designed around DOS/Windows.
