Smart Configurator's code generation function

Smart Configurator provides a "code generation" function that reflects GUI settings into source files.
On the other hand, if you manually edit files that are subject to code generation and then run the Smart Configurator's code generation, your manual changes may be overwritten by the Smart Configurator settings. This can occur not only when the user manually runs code generation, but also when code generation is automatically executed during build or other operations.

Notes when editing FreeRTOSConfig.h manually

In FreeRTOS projects created using the project generation (PG) function (For reference: About RX FreeRTOS), configuration macros in FreeRTOSConfig.h can be set and updated through the Smart Configurator GUI and code generation function.
Therefore, if you manually edit FreeRTOSConfig.h and change configuration macros, there is a risk of being overwritten as described above in Smart Configurator.

For this reason, if you want to permanently change settings managed by the Smart Configurator manually, we recommend defining the macros through compiler options instead of editing FreeRTOSConfig.h manually.

Workaround
  1. Remove the definition of the configuration macro you want to change from FreeRTOSConfig.h.
  2. Define the target macro and its value in the compiler options.
It is convenient to configure this from the build options screen in e2 studio.
  • Example compiler options
    • CC-RX: -define=<macro_name>[=<string>]
    • GCC for RX: -D <macro_name>[=<string>]
