Network page error

This was originally reported as part of #2043 but I thought it would be clearer to start a new bug report for it as it might have got lost in the original bug report. This happens with the latest image (i20260509) and the latest UPDATE branch (as at 10:00 BST today).

it may well still have some relation to #2043 but at least it should make it clearer that the issue exists.
