🚨 Breaking changes

  • Home Assistant 2026.5 is now the minimum version, 2026.11 added to automated testing

✨ Enhancements

  • Alexa Devices: the title is shown on an Echo's screen by its announce entity, from Home Assistant 2026.11
  • Discord: the notify entity Home Assistant 2026.11 creates for each channel or user can be a target, selecting the discord delivery ahead of the generic Notify Entity one, with the title composed into the message
  • Email: the mail always gets through - an image file that can't be found is left out of an email sent by Home Assistant's SMTP integration, with a warning, as it already was for a direct send, so the text still goes out. From Home Assistant 2026.11 the SMTP integration otherwise fails the whole email
  • Voice: an entity can be named by its full name, as Home Assistant 2026.11 composes it from its device's, as well as by its friendly name
  • Targets: an exclude block leaves entities, devices, areas, floors, labels or people out of a supernotify.notify target, as Exclude target in the Home Assistant 2026.11 action editor gives. Previously the exclusion was rejected, or with 2026.11 ignored. See Excluding Targets

πŸ› Bug fixes

Dupe Detection

  • A delivery that failed is no longer remembered as sent, so sending it again straight away isn't suppressed as a duplicate
  • A notification is only given the dupe outcome when nothing was sent. One that was partly sent, with the rest a duplicate, has the outcome for what was sent, rather than being archived and shown in the logbook as skipped

πŸ“ Other changes

  • Logbook: the description of each notification is in Home Assistant's configured language
  • Dependency on the cachetools library removed

πŸ“š Documentation

  • Dupe Detection: what makes two notifications the same, the defaults, and that force_resend can be set on a delivery
  • Update references to HACS to use the new Home Assistant Marketplace, which takes over from HACS in Home Assistant 2026.11, with HACS kept for earlier versions. The badges and Open in the Home Assistant Marketplace buttons now use the Marketplace
