Hi, thank you for this extremely promizing Deezer Connect player !

I tried to install it on a Raspberry Pi 3 today and I systematically get the same error, whatever the installation method I use:

$ sudo cargo install pleezer
    Updating crates.io index
  Installing pleezer v0.10.0
error: failed to compile `pleezer v0.10.0`, intermediate artifacts can be found at `/tmp/cargo-installPh6WLJ`

Caused by:
  failed to select a version for `env_logger`.
      ... required by package `pleezer v0.10.0`
  versions that meet the requirements `^0.11` are: 0.11.6, 0.11.5, 0.11.4, 0.11.3, 0.11.2, 0.11.1, 0.11.0

  the package `pleezer` depends on `env_logger`, with features: `anstream` but `env_logger` does not have these features.
   It has an optional dependency with that name, but that dependency uses the "dep:" syntax in the features table, so it does not have an implicit feature with that name.

  failed to select a version for `env_logger` which could resolve this conflict

Would you know how to solve this dependencie issue please ?
Unfortunately I'm new to rust and don't know what to do ...

Hi @actyln,

Could it be that you are using an older Rust version that was bundled with your Linux distribution? If so, please follow the instructions at https://rustup.rs/ to install a recent one.

OK, so I stopped playing with the Cargo.toml file (I was getting some progress there ...).

I unistalled the rust from the raspbian distribution (outdated, you were right) with apt remove rustc
And installed rust using the official rustup installer. And now it's compiling !

OK so it finished compiling, and installing when well as well !

Now it fails at starting:

eric@rpi3:~/.cargo/bin $ pleezer --device-type mobile
[2025-01-20T22:15:58Z INFO  pleezer] starting pleezer/0.10.0.71b4fe4 (2025-01-19); release
[2025-01-20T22:15:58Z INFO  pleezer] parsing secrets from secrets.toml
[2025-01-20T22:15:58Z ERROR pleezer] not found: No such file or directory (os error 2)

Any idea ? Same output for just eric@rpi3:~/.cargo/bin $ pleezer

I'm running on Raspberry Pi 3, fresh install:
eric@rpi3:~/.cargo/bin $ uname -a Linux rpi3 6.6.62+rpt-rpi-v8 #1 SMP PREEMPT Debian 1:6.6.62-1+rpt1 (2024-11-25) aarch64 GNU/Linux

Note: pleezer -d "?" do return correctly the list of available output devices.

Please examine the error message: it says that it cannot find "secrets.toml" in the current path.
It could also mean that it cannot open it (incorrect permissions).
