Open-source launcher that gives AI tools direct access to Roblox Studio. Not just file sync — your AI can execute code, create instances, run playtests, and read game state inside Studio.
Works with Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, and any AI tool that supports MCP or project context files.
Roxlit connects AI coding tools to Roblox Studio in two ways:
File sync (via Rojo) — AI writes files, Rojo syncs them into Studio in real-time. Scripts, instances, models, properties — everything in your game tree.
Runtime access (via MCP server) — AI executes Luau code directly inside Studio. Create Parts, build GUIs, run playtests, query the game hierarchy, read properties. The AI isn't blind — it can see and manipulate your game while you build.
Plus:
- 7 AI context packs that teach your AI how to write correct Luau code (services, patterns, client-server architecture)
- Auto-connect — Studio plugins connect automatically when you start development, no manual clicking
- Studio log capture — Console output streams to your local session so your AI can read errors
- One-click launcher — Start Rojo, MCP server, and your editor with a single button

Windows x64 only for now. No code signing certificate yet, so Windows SmartScreen will show a warning. Source code is right here if you want to verify or build it yourself.
Without context, AI tools write bad Roblox code. They use wait() instead of task.wait(), put game logic in LocalScripts, skip server validation, and hallucinate APIs that don't exist.
Roxlit's context packs fix this. They're curated documentation files that get installed into your project (.roxlit/context/), covering:
- Roblox services and their correct usage
- Luau data types and strict typing patterns
- Client-server architecture and security model
- Common patterns (DataStores, RemoteEvents, UI)
- Physics, constraints, and spatial queries
- Networking and replication
The AI reads these files automatically and writes code that follows best practices.
First run (installer wizard):
- Pick your AI tool (Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, etc.)
- Select your project folder
- Roxlit detects what's already installed and what's missing
- One click installs everything
Every run after that (launcher):
- Open Roxlit
- Click "Start" to launch
rojo serve+ your editor - Code with AI, changes sync to Studio in real time

# Prerequisites: Node.js 18+, Rust 1.70+, Tauri CLI
git clone https://github.com/Roxlit/installer.git
cd installer
npm ci
cd src-tauri && cargo check && cd ..
npm run tauri devSee CONTRIBUTING.md. The highest-impact contribution is improving the AI context packs. If you notice the AI getting something wrong (deprecated APIs, bad patterns, missing best practices), submit a PR.
