Plinth 1.6.0 adds rhythms for auto-knock, an adjustable room size, positional sound, and trackpad feedback.

New

  • Auto-knock rhythms. Auto-knock has a new Rhythm option, in the fish's menu and in Settings > Knocking > Auto-Knock:

    • Steady keeps an even pace, as before.
    • Quickening (起板) plays rounds of fifteen knocks that start slow and quicken into a roll, with a rest between rounds.
    • Natural varies each gap slightly, like a hand keeping time.

    Stop after 108 knocks counts every knock, whichever rhythm you choose.

  • Room size. A new Space slider in Settings > Knocking sets the room the knock rings in, from a meditation room (禅房) to a great hall (大殿). The default sounds the same as in earlier versions.

  • Positional sound. The knock comes from where the fish sits, panned left or right with its position on the screen. Knocks that are still ringing follow the fish as you drag it.

  • Trackpad feedback. On a Force Touch trackpad, a knock by hand taps back as the mallet lands. macOS plays it only while a finger is on the trackpad.

  • macOS 14 Sonoma or later, on Apple silicon or Intel.

Install or Update

  • Plinth 1.4.0 or later: Plinth offers this update within a day. To update now, choose Check for Updates… from the fish's menu.
  • Earlier versions and new installs: Download Plinth-1.6.0.dmg below, open it, and drag Plinth to the Applications folder. If Plinth is already running, quit it first: right-click the fish and choose Quit Plinth.

Plinth is signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple.

新功能

  • 自动敲击的敲法。 自动敲击新增「敲法」选项，位于木鱼菜单和 设置 >「敲击」>「自动敲击」中：

    • 匀速：节奏均匀，与以前相同。
    • 起板：每轮十五下，由慢到快敲成一串，每轮之间停顿片刻。
    • 随性：每一下的间隔略有长短，像人手打拍子。

    无论选择哪种敲法，「敲满 108 下就停」都会计入每一下。

  • 空间大小。 设置 >「敲击」新增「空间」滑块，可调整敲击声的回响空间，从禅房到大殿。默认值与之前版本的声音相同。

  • 声音方位。 敲击声按木鱼在屏幕上的左右位置定位。拖动木鱼时，仍在回响的声音会随之移动。

  • 触控板反馈。 使用压感触控板时，手动敲击会在木槌落下时产生触感反馈。只有手指放在触控板上时，macOS 才会产生这一反馈。

  • macOS 14 Sonoma 或更高版本，支持 Apple 芯片和 Intel 处理器。

安装与更新

  • 已安装 1.4.0 或更高版本： Plinth 会在一天内提示更新。如需立即更新，请在木鱼菜单中选择「检查更新…」。
  • 更早版本或首次安装： 下载下方的 Plinth-1.6.0.dmg，打开后将 Plinth 拖入「应用程序」文件夹。如果 Plinth 正在运行，请先退出：右键点按木鱼，选择「Quit Plinth」。

Plinth 已使用 Developer ID 签名，并经过 Apple 公证。
