A comprehensive dataset encompassing parameters for characterizing the evolution of minimum orbit intersection distances (MOIDs) for near-Earth asteroids.
The MOID evolution is computed from Jan 1, 2025 to Jan 1, 2225 (therefore the MEI indices and fitting parameters are also valid within this timespan).
This dataset is structured as a CSV-formatted text file (MOID_20240916.csv) containing orbital parameters and MOID characterization parameters for 35,792 near-Earth asteroids (NEAs) as of September 16, 2024, excluding 9 asteroids with confirmed Earth impact records. Each entry includes the following parameters:
- Asteroid designation
- Semi-major axis (a, au)
- Eccentricity (e)
- Inclination (i, °)
- Longitude of ascending node (Ω, °)
- Argument of perihelion (ω, °)
- Initial MOID offset (d₀, au)
- Fitted MOID drift rate (k, Earth radii/year)
- Orientation of the critical angle (φ₀, °)
- Residual amplitude (ε, au)
- Fitting quality metric (η)
- MOID Evolution Index (MEI)
