This is a minimal subset of patches that can be cherry-picked without any merge conflicts.

After searching for [RISCV] in llvm/llvm-project repo I found 21 patches in the interval Jan 17 - Feb 02. Next, I filtered these patches by their ability to be cherry-picked without conflicts. Additionally, one pair of apply+revert patches was filtered out. After the filtering this patch set was reduced to 16 patches.

These 4 patches are absolutely necessary for A, F and D extensions:

With this list in mind, patch set can be reduced to 11 patches (this PR). Another 7 patches are "dependencies": they are needed to cherry-pick without merge conflicts. This patch set cannot be minimized further without merge conflicts.

Closes rust-lang/rust#58335
Related: rust-lang/rust#58012

In order to support codegen RV64A, this patch:
* Introduces masked atomics intrinsics for atomicrmw operations and cmpxchg
  that use the i64 type. These are ultimately lowered to masked operations
  using lr.w/sc.w, but we need to use these alternate intrinsics for RV64
  because i32 is not legal
* Modifies RISCVExpandPseudoInsts.cpp to handle PseudoAtomicLoadNand64 and
  PseudoCmpXchg64
* Modifies the AtomicExpandPass hooks in RISCVTargetLowering to sext/trunc as
  needed for RV64 and to select the i64 intrinsic IDs when necessary
* Adds appropriate patterns to RISCVInstrInfoA.td
* Updates test/CodeGen/RISCV/atomic-*.ll to show RV64A support

This ends up being a fairly mechanical change, as the logic for RV32A is
effectively reused.

llvm-svn: 351422
Avoid the infinite loop caused by the target DAG combine converting ANYEXT to
SIGNEXT and the target-independent DAG combine logic converting back to
ANYEXT. Do this by not adding the new node to the worklist.

Committing directly as this definitely doesn't make the problem any worse, and
I intend to follow-up with a patch that avoids this custom combiner logic
altogether and just lowers the i32 operations to a target-specific
SelectionDAG node. This should be easier to reason about and improve codegen
quality in some cases (though may miss out on some later DAG combines).

llvm-svn: 351806
Previously we had names like 'Call' or 'Tail'. This potentially clashes with
the naming scheme used elsewhere in RISCVInstrInfo.td. Many other backends
would use names like AArch64call or PPCtail. I prefer the SystemZ approach,
which uses prefixed all-lowercase names. This matches the naming scheme used
for target-independent SelectionDAG nodes.

llvm-svn: 351823
The previous DAG combiner-based approach had an issue with infinite loops
between the target-dependent and target-independent combiner logic (see
PR40333). Although this was worked around in rL351806, the combiner-based
approach is still potentially brittle and can fail to select the 32-bit shift
variant when profitable to do so, as demonstrated in the pr40333.ll test case.

This patch instead introduces target-specific SelectionDAG nodes for
SHLW/SRLW/SRAW and custom-lowers variable i32 shifts to them. pr40333.ll is a
good example of how this approach can improve codegen.

This adds DAG combine that does SimplifyDemandedBits on the operands (only
lower 32-bits of first operand and lower 5 bits of second operand are read).
This seems better than implementing SimplifyDemandedBitsForTargetNode as there
is no guarantee that would be called (and it's not for e.g. the anyext return
test cases). Also implements ComputeNumSignBitsForTargetNode.

There are codegen changes in atomic-rmw.ll and atomic-cmpxchg.ll but the new
instruction sequences are semantically equivalent.

Differential Revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D57085

llvm-svn: 352169
Follow the same custom legalisation strategy as used in D57085 for
variable-length shifts (see that patch summary for more discussion). Although
we may lose out on some late-stage DAG combines, I think this custom
legalisation strategy is ultimately easier to reason about.

There are some codegen changes in rv64m-exhaustive-w-insts.ll but they are all
neutral in terms of the number of instructions.

Differential Revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D57096

llvm-svn: 352171
This target-independent code won't trigger for cases such as RV32FD where
custom SelectionDAG nodes are generated. These new tests demonstrate such
cases. Additionally, float-arith.ll was updated so that fneg.s, fsgnjn.s, and
fabs.s selection patterns are actually exercised.

llvm-svn: 352199
The intrinsic names erroneously used the .f32 variant. As the return and
argument types were still double the intrinsics calls worked properly.

llvm-svn: 352211
…ombines.ll

(fcopysign a, (fneg b)) will be expanded to bitwise operations by
DAGTypeLegalizer::SoftenFloatRes_FCOPYSIGN if the floating point type isn't
legal. Arguably it might be worth doing a combine even if it is legal.

llvm-svn: 352240
DAGCombiner::visitBITCAST will perform:
 fold (bitconvert (fneg x)) -> (xor (bitconvert x), signbit)
 fold (bitconvert (fabs x)) -> (and (bitconvert x), (not signbit))

As shown in double-bitmanip-dagcombines.ll, this can be advantageous. But
RV32FD doesn't use bitcast directly (as i64 isn't a legal type), and instead
uses RISCVISD::SplitF64. This patch adds an equivalent DAG combine for
SplitF64.

llvm-svn: 352247
This requires a little extra work due tothe fact i32 is not a legal type. When
call lowering happens post-legalisation (e.g. when an intrinsic was inserted
during legalisation). A bitcast from f32 to i32 can't be introduced. This is
similar to the challenges with RV32D. To handle this, we introduce
target-specific DAG nodes that perform bitcast+anyext for f32->i64 and
trunc+bitcast for i64->f32.

Differential Revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D53235

llvm-svn: 352807
This patch:
* Adds necessary RV64D codegen patterns
* Modifies CC_RISCV so it will properly handle f64 types (with soft float ABI)

Note that in general there is no reason to try to select fcvt.w[u].d rather than fcvt.l[u].d for i32 conversions because fptosi/fptoui produce poison if the input won't fit into the target type.

Given the number of patches it might be better to just rebase the fork to current upstream master (and thus ensure that nothing is missing). But I don't see a problem with these cherry-picks either, as this only touches the RISCV backend.

@nikic Rust is able to compile and link an example program with this patch set, so looks like that everything is in place. Rebase would be better, of course, but much harder (at least for me).

I'd rather see us stick to release branches, so that's great if a few backports suffice.

Thanks for doing the work here @Disasm! If this works for y'all I agree with @cuviper that it's best to stick to the current commit if we can, so I'm gonna go ahead and merge. It's not impossible to advance to LLVM tip but I think it'll just require a bit more discussion

It's a bit late but for the sake of completeness: this does indeed seem like a sensible set of RISC-V patches to cherry-pick. Thanks!

If a core file has an EFI version string which includes a UUID
(similar to what it returns for the kdp KDP_KERNELVERSION packet)
in the LC_IDENT or LC_NOTE 'kern ver str' load command. In that
case, we should try to find the binary and dSYM for the UUID
listed. The dSYM may have python code which knows how to relocate
the binary to the correct address in lldb's target section load
list and loads other ancillary binaries.

The test case is a little involved,

1. it compiles an inferior hello world apple (a.out),
2. it compiles a program which can create a corefile manually
   with a specific binary's UUID encoded in it,
3. it gets the UUID of the a.out binary,
4. it creates a shell script, dsym-for-uuid.sh, which will
   return the full path to the a.out + a.out.dSYM when called
   with teh correct UUID,
5. it sets the LLDB_APPLE_DSYMFORUUID_EXECUTABLE env var before
   creating the lldb target, to point to this dsym-for-uuid.sh,
6. runs the create-corefile binary we compiled in step rust-lang#2,
7. loads the corefile from step rust-lang#6 into lldb,
8. verifies that lldb loaded a.out by reading the LC_NOTE
   load command from the corefile, calling dsym-for-uuid.sh with
   that UUID, got back the path to a.out and loaded it.

whew!

GDB has some more complicated preferences between overlapping and/or sharing
address symbols, I have made here so far the most simple fix for this case.

This reverts commit 30d5946.
nikic pushed a commit to nikic/llvm-project that referenced this pull request May 21, 2020
Summary:
The previous code tries to strip out parentheses and anything in between
them. I'm guessing the idea here was to try to drop any listed arguments
for the function being symbolized. Unfortunately this approach is broken
in several ways.

* Templated functions may contain parentheses. The existing approach
messes up these names.
* In C++ argument types are part of a function's signature for the
purposes of overloading so removing them could be confusing.

Fix this simply by not trying to adjust the function name that comes
from `atos`.

A test case is included.

Without the change the test case produced output like:

```
When `Target::GetEntryPointAddress()` calls `exe_module->GetObjectFile()->GetEntryPointAddress()`, and the returned
`entry_addr` is valid, it can immediately be returned.
However, just before that, an `llvm::Error` value has been setup, but in this case it is not consumed before returning, like is done further below in the function.
In https://bugs.freebsd.org/248745 we got a bug report for this, where a very simple test case aborts and dumps core:
```
* thread #1, name = 'testcase', stop reason = breakpoint 1.1
    frame #0: 0x00000000002018d4 testcase`main(argc=1, argv=0x00007fffffffea18) at testcase.c:3:5
   1	int main(int argc, char *argv[])
   2	{
-> 3	    return 0;
   4	}
(lldb) p argc
Program aborted due to an unhandled Error:
Error value was Success. (Note: Success values must still be checked prior to being destroyed).

Thread 1 received signal SIGABRT, Aborted.

ADDI often has a frameindex in operand 1, but consumers of this
interface, such as MachineSink, tend to call getReg() on the Destination
and Source operands, leading to the following crash when building

CXXDeductionGuideDecl with a local typedef has its own copy of the
TypedefDecl with the CXXDeductionGuideDecl as the DeclContext of that
TypedefDecl.
```
      template <typename T> struct A {
        typedef T U;
        A(U, T);
      };
      A a{(int)0, (int)0};
```
Related discussion on cfe-dev:
http://lists.llvm.org/pipermail/cfe-dev/2020-November/067252.html

Without this fix, when we import the CXXDeductionGuideDecl (via
VisitFunctionDecl) then before creating the Decl we must import the
FunctionType. However, the first parameter's type is the afore mentioned
local typedef. So, we then start importing the TypedefDecl whose
DeclContext is the CXXDeductionGuideDecl itself. The infinite loop is
formed.

```
The fix is to first create the TypedefDecl and only then start to import
the DeclContext.
Basically, we could do this during the import of all other Decls (not
just for typedefs). But it seems, there is only one another AST
construct that has a similar cycle: a struct defined as a function
parameter:
```
int struct_in_proto(struct data_t{int a;int b;} *d);

```
In that case, however, we had decided to return simply with an error
back then because that seemed to be a very rare construct.
We observed a failed assert in overloaded compound-assignment operator resolution:
A simple reproducer is:
```
_Atomic unsigned an_atomic_uint;

enum { an_enum_value = 1 };

void enum1() { an_atomic_uint += an_enum_value; }
```
This patch fixes the issue by generating builtin operator overloads for (volatile) _Atomic types.
The DWARF spec says:
 Any debugging information entry representing the declaration of an object,
 module, subprogram or type may have DW_AT_decl_file, DW_AT_decl_line and
 DW_AT_decl_column attributes, each of whose value is an unsigned integer
If however, a producer happens to emit DW_AT_decl_file /
Likewise with DW_AT_call_file / DW_AT_call_line.
The problem is that the code in llvm/lib/DebugInfo/DWARF/DWARFDie.cpp
dumping these attributes assumes that
FormValue.getAsUnsignedConstant() returns an armed optional.  If in
debug mode, we get an assertion line the above.  If in release mode,
and asserts are compiled out, then we proceed as if the optional had a
value, running into undefined behavior, printing whatever random
value.
Fix this by checking whether the optional returned by
FormValue.getAsUnsignedConstant() has a value, like done in other
places.
In addition, DWARFVerifier.cpp is validating DW_AT_call_file /
DW_AT_decl_file, but not AT_call_line / DW_AT_decl_line.  This commit
fixes that too.
The llvm-dwarfdump/X86/verify_file_encoding.yaml testcase is extended
to cover these cases.  Current llvm-dwarfdump crashes running the
newly-extended test.
"make check-llvm-tools-llvm-dwarfdump" shows no regressions, on x86-64
GNU/Linux.
It seems like `LHS` and `RHS` could be empty range sets.
This caused an assertion failure inside RangeConstraintManager.
I'm hoisting out the check from the function into the call-site.
This way we could assert that we only want to deal with non-empty range
sets.
The address being accessed is unmapped.  However, even when the tests
`PASS` with Solaris `ld`, `ASAN_OPTIONS=verbosity=2` shows
  ==6582==__tls_get_addr: Can't guess glibc version
Given that that the code is stricly `glibc`-specific according to
`sanitizer_tls_get_addr.h`, there seems little point in using the
interceptor on non-`glibc` targets.
That's what this patch does.  Tested on `i386-pc-solaris2.11` and
`sparc-sun-solaris2.11` inside the GCC tree.
…ak ordering
`std::sort` requires a comparison operator that obides by strict weak
ordering. `operator<=` on pointer does not and leads to undefined
behaviour. Specifically, when we grow the `scratch_type_systems` vector
slightly larger (and thus take `std::sort` down a slightly different
codepath), we segfault. This happened while working on a patch that
would in fact grow this vector. In such a case ASAN reports:
```
$ ./bin/lldb ./lldb-test-build.noindex/lang/cpp/complete-type-check/TestCppIsTypeComplete.test_builtin_types/a.out -o "script -- lldb.target.FindFirstType(\"void\")"

This change prevents rare deadlocks observed for specific macOS/iOS GUI
applications which issue many `dlopen()` calls from multiple different
threads at startup and where TSan finds and reports a race during
startup. Providing a reliable test for this has been deemed infeasible.

Although I've only observed this deadlock on Apple platforms,
conceptually the cause is not confined to Apple code so the fix lives in
platform-independent code.

Deadlock scenario:
```
Thread 2                    | Thread 4
ReportRace()                |
Lock internal TSan mutexes  |
  &ctx->slot_mtx            |
                            | dlopen() interceptor
                            | OnLibraryLoaded()
                            | MemoryMappingLayout::DumpListOfModules()
                            | calls dyld API, which takes internal lock
                            | lock() interceptor
                            | TSan tries to take internal mutexes again
                            |   &ctx->slot_mtx
call into symbolizer        |
MemoryMappingLayout::DumpListOfModules()
calls dyld API, which hangs on trying to take lock
```
Resulting in:
* Thread 2 has internal TSan mutex, blocked on dyld lock
* Thread 4 has dyld lock, blocked on internal TSan mutex

The fix prevents this situation by not intercepting any of the calls
originating from `MemoryMappingLayout::DumpListOfModules()`.

Stack traces for deadlock between ReportRace() and dlopen() interceptor:

…callback

The `TypeSystemMap::m_mutex` guards against concurrent modifications
of members of `TypeSystemMap`. In particular, `m_map`.

`TypeSystemMap::ForEach` iterates through the entire `m_map` calling
a user-specified callback for each entry. This is all done while
`m_mutex` is locked. However, there's nothing that guarantees that
the callback itself won't call back into `TypeSystemMap` APIs on the
same thread. This lead to double-locking `m_mutex`, which is undefined
behaviour. We've seen this cause a deadlock in the swift plugin with
following backtrace:

```
int main() {
    std::unique_ptr<int> up = std::make_unique<int>(5);
    volatile int val = *up;
    return val;
}
clang++ -std=c++2a -g -O1 main.cpp
./bin/lldb -o “br se -p return” -o run -o “v *up” -o “expr *up” -b
```

Our solution is to simply iterate over a local copy of `m_map`.

  before the patch)

Running this on Amazon Ubuntu the final backtrace is:
```
    frame rust-lang#6: 0x0000aaaaaaaa06b0 a.out`_start + 48
```
This causes the test to fail because of the extra ___lldb_unnamed_symbol2962 frame
(an inlined function?).

To fix this, strictly check all the frames in main.c then for the rest
just check we find __libc_start_main and _start in that order regardless
of other frames in between.

…fine.parallel verifier

This patch updates AffineParallelOp::verify() to check each result type matches
its corresponding reduction op (i.e, the result type must be a `FloatType` if
the reduction attribute is `addf`)

affine.parallel will crash on --lower-affine if the corresponding result type
cannot match the reduction attribute.

```
      %128 = affine.parallel (%arg2, %arg3) = (0, 0) to (8, 7) reduce ("maxf") -> (memref<8x7xf32>) {
        affine.yield %alloc_33 : memref<8x7xf32>
      }
```
This will crash and report a type conversion issue when we run `mlir-opt --lower-affine`

…tePluginObject

After llvm#68052 this function changed from returning
a nullptr with `return {};` to returning Expected and hitting `llvm_unreachable` before it could
do so.

I gather that we're never supposed to call this function, but on Windows we actually do call
this function because `interpreter->CreateScriptedProcessInterface()` returns
`ScriptedProcessInterface` not `ScriptedProcessPythonInterface`. Likely because
`target_sp->GetDebugger().GetScriptInterpreter()` also does not return a Python related class.

That might be a bug on the Windows side, or an artifact of how our build is setup,
but whatever it is, having `CreatePluginObject` return an error and
the caller check it, fixes the failing test.

The built lldb can run the script command to use Python, but I'm not sure if that means
anything.

I discovered two issues for when a CFI dispatch table entry is used as a
direct call.
# Inlining
There is the possibility that the dispatch table entry contains only a
single function pointer:
```
; Function Attrs: naked nocf_check
define private void @.cfi.jumptable() rust-lang#6 align 8 { entry:
  call void asm sideeffect "jmp ${0:c}@plt\0Aint3\0Aint3\0Aint3\0A", "s"(ptr @_Z7throw_ei)
  unreachable
}
```
If this function is inlined, the unreachable follows and ruins the
containing function.
# Exception Handling
The dispatch table is always marked NoUnwind. This is fine if the
entries are never used directly, but if a direct call is used which the
containing function expects to throw, it will no longer throw and the
exception handling code will be lost.

We'd like a way to select the current thread by its thread ID (rather
than its internal LLDB thread index).

This PR adds a `-t` option (`--thread_id` long option) that tells the
`thread select` command to interpret the `<thread-index>` argument as a
thread ID.

Here's an example of it working:
```
michristensen@devbig356 llvm/llvm-project (thread-select-tid) » ../Debug/bin/lldb ~/scratch/cpp/threading/a.out
Change the currently selected thread.
Syntax: thread select <cmd-options> <thread-index>
Command Options Usage:
  thread select [-t] <thread-index>
       -t ( --thread_id )
            Provide a thread ID instead of a thread index.
     This command takes options and free-form arguments.  If your arguments
     resemble option specifiers (i.e., they start with a - or --), you must use
     ' -- ' between the end of the command options and the beginning of the
     arguments.
Judging by the backtrace something is trying to read the pointer authentication address/code mask
registers. This explains why I've not seen this issue locally, as the buildbot runs on Graviton
3 with has the pointer authentication extension.
I will try to reproduce, fix and re-enable the test.
…8055)
This fixes a crash where `path::parent_path` causes an invalid access on
a string upon receiving a path that consists of a single colon.
On Windows machine, with runtime checks enabled build, upon `clang -I:
test.cc` produces:
```
Assertion failed: Index < Length && "Invalid index!", file llvm\include\llvm/ADT/StringRef.h, line 232
...
 rust-lang#6 0x00007ff7816201eb `anonymous namespace'::parent_path_end llvm\lib\Support\Path.cpp:144:0
 rust-lang#7 0x00007ff781620135 llvm::sys::path::parent_path(class llvm::StringRef, enum llvm::sys::path::Style) llvm\lib\Support\Path.cpp:470:0
```
Ideally, we can look for the last colon starting from the last
character, but we can instead start from second to last, and handle
empty paths by abusing `0 - 1 == npos`.
TestCases/Misc/Linux/sigaction.cpp fails because dlsym() may call malloc
on failure. And then the wrapped malloc appears to access thread local
storage using global dynamic accesses, thus calling
___interceptor___tls_get_addr, before REAL(__tls_get_addr) has
been set, so we get a crash inside ___interceptor___tls_get_addr. For
example, this can happen when looking up __isoc23_scanf which might not
exist in some libcs.
Fix this by marking the thread local variable accessed inside the
debug checks as "initial-exec", which does not require __tls_get_addr.
This is probably a better alternative to llvm#83886.
This fixes a different crash but is related to llvm#46204.
…ined member functions & member function templates (llvm#88963)
Consider the following snippet from the discussion of CWG2847 on the core reflector:
```
template<typename T>
concept C = sizeof(T) <= sizeof(long);

template<typename T>
struct A
{
    template<typename U>
    void f(U) requires C<U>; // #1, declares a function template

    void g() requires C<T>; // rust-lang#2, declares a function

    template<>
    void f(char); // rust-lang#3, an explicit specialization of a function template that declares a function
};

template<>
template<typename U>
void A<short>::f(U) requires C<U>; // rust-lang#4, an explicit specialization of a function template that declares a function template

template<>
template<>
void A<int>::f(int); // rust-lang#5, an explicit specialization of a function template that declares a function

template<>
void A<long>::g(); // rust-lang#6, an explicit specialization of a function that declares a function
```
A number of problems exist:
- Clang rejects `rust-lang#4` because the trailing _requires-clause_ has `U`
substituted with the wrong template parameter depth when
`Sema::AreConstraintExpressionsEqual` is called to determine whether it
matches the trailing _requires-clause_ of the implicitly instantiated
function template.
- Clang rejects `rust-lang#5` because the function template specialization
instantiated from `A<int>::f` has a trailing _requires-clause_, but `rust-lang#5`
does not (nor can it have one as it isn't a templated function).
- Clang rejects `rust-lang#6` for the same reasons it rejects `rust-lang#5`.
This patch resolves these issues by making the following changes:
- To fix `rust-lang#4`, `Sema::AreConstraintExpressionsEqual` is passed
`FunctionTemplateDecl`s when comparing the trailing _requires-clauses_
of `rust-lang#4` and the function template instantiated from `#1`.
- To fix `rust-lang#5` and `rust-lang#6`, the trailing _requires-clauses_ are not compared
for explicit specializations that declare functions.
In addition to these changes, `CheckMemberSpecialization` now considers
constraint satisfaction/constraint partial ordering when determining
which member function is specialized by an explicit specialization of a
member function for an implicit instantiation of a class template (we
previously would select the first function that has the same type as the
explicit specialization). With constraints taken under consideration, we
match EDG's behavior for these declarations.
…erSize (llvm#67657)"
This reverts commit f0b3654.
This commit triggers UB by reading an uninitialized variable.
`UP.PartialThreshold` is used uninitialized in `getUnrollingPreferences()` when
it is called from `LoopVectorizationPlanner::executePlan()`. In this case the
`UP` variable is created on the stack and its fields are not initialized.
