assertion failed: self.stashed_diagnostics.is_empty() compiler crash running miri tests

We are seeing this crash running the tests for the delta-kernel-rs ffi crate. I'm seeing failure when running against commit 38068c4219ce86d24acfc7311282ee9ef08dafd2 on main there.

• clone the delta-kernel-rs repo
• cd delta-kernel-rs/ffi
• MIRIFLAGS=-Zmiri-disable-isolation cargo +nightly miri test --features default-engine-rustls
