This application is portable, eliminating the need for installation, and places a premium on security by abstaining from logging or storing any received or inputted information.

Developers can employ this tool to ascertain the external accessibility of the intended database for their ongoing system development.

Friday, March 01, 2024 (v2.1): 1. Refreshed the User Interface with a minimalistic feel. 2. Added Instance Lock. The execution of multiple instances of this program at the same time will now be prevented to increase memory efficiency. 3. Added Context Menu for cut, copy, paste and select all. 4. Revised and refreshed the algorithm for critical functionalities. 5. Removed the License button and integrated the licensing part in the About section. 6. Added symmetric cryptography encryption and decryption to secure the program. 7. Introduced character limit on entry fields in accordance with accepted conventions. 8. Addition of symmetric cryptography system results in some security providers flagging this program as malicious. In such case, please exclude this program from your antivirus program's detection engine.

Project commenced with the addition of Azure SQL Connection Algorithm, ODBC Drivers and Basic GUI.

Version 1.0 has been decommissioned and archived permanently as of this date.

Minimum System Requirements

1. Operating System: Windows 10/11

2. RAM: 6GB or better

3. Free Disk Space: 5GB or better

4. A stable internet connection

5. Access to your Azure SQL Database with your IP Address whitelisted on https://portal.azure.com

6. Have Microsoft ODBC Driver version 17 or 18 installed in your system

Support for Ubuntu Linux Systems will be added in a future update

DUE TO LIMITATIONS IN AVAILABLE RESOURCES, THIS TOOL HAS NOT BEEN TESTED ON A SYSTEM RUNNING APPLE's macOS OR ON SYSTEMS WITH AN ARM64 PROCESSOR.

ODBC Driver

ODBC (Open Database Connectivity) is a standard interface for connecting to databases. An ODBC driver serves as a bridge between an application and a database (AZURE SQL DATABASE, in this case), allowing the application to communicate with the database using the ODBC API.

Make sure you have the appropriate ODBC driver installed on your system. This tool supports the x64 version of ODBC Driver version 17 and 18. New versions will be added if they are released in the future. If not installed, you can download the driver either from the link provided below or by clicking on the "INSTALL DRIVER" button within the program once you have gotten it running.

HOW IT WORKS

• Download the SQLlet_Azure.exe from the right section of this webpage.

• Ensure that your system meets the minimum requirements mentioned in this readme before proceeding.

• Launch the downloaded exe file. No installation is required, as this program is portable. You can start and close it without affecting your system settings.

Usage Guidelines

To use this program, fill in all the blank fields and select an appropriate ODBC driver installed in your system.

1. Server: The URL or IP of your Azure SQL Database server.

   Format: [yourservername.database.windows.net]

2. Database: The name of the target database.

3. Username: Your database username.

4. Password: Your database password.

5. Driver: Select the appropriate ODBC Driver installed in your system.

6. After this, click on 'Test Connection' to test whether your connection credentials are correct.

7. To clear the fields, click the 'RESET' button.

8. To see the License, click the 'LICENSE' button

9. To contact us, check out our About section by clicking on the 'ABOUT' button

10. To quit the program, click the 'EXIT' button.
