Using the exact setup described in the README with null-ls integration always causes null-ls to output Ignoring invalid config key 'null_ls'.

You're probably using the stable/an older release, the null-ls source was added later on.

I'm using the latest version of null-ls and v0.2.1 of crates.

Yes v0.2.1 is the stable release. To use the null-ls source you'll have to use the upstream, until a new release is tagged.
