StableGen 0.5.0 can install and run ComfyUI from inside Blender, so getting started no longer needs a terminal. TRELLIS.2 now runs on ComfyUI's own nodes. New mesh tools rebuild meshes as low-poly topology with LATO.2, and Make Solid removes TRELLIS.2's hidden interior shells. Object prompts describe each object once for every view that sees it, and object-relative projection keeps textures intact when objects move. The release also brings softer seams, faster diagnostics and many fixes.
Before you upgrade
- Download the ZIP for your system:
windows-x64,linux-x64ormacos-arm64(Apple Silicon). - TRELLIS.2 needs ComfyUI 0.42 or newer and its model files from installer package 8. Install it again from the new setup page or with the installer. The ComfyUI-TRELLIS2 custom node is no longer used, and you can remove it.
- New installer package: LATO.2 low-poly remesh (18).
- Existing setups keep working. StableGen keeps connecting to the server address you set until you choose another option on the setup page.
- Blender: 4.2 to 4.5, and 5.1 or later (tested up to 5.2). Object-relative projection needs 5.1 or later.
Set up ComfyUI from Blender

The StableGen panel has a new ComfyUI setup page (••• > ComfyUI setup), which opens by itself the first time. It can do one of three things:
- Install StableGen's own ComfyUI into a folder you choose: its own Python 3.12, PyTorch for your GPU and a tested ComfyUI version, about 5 GB before models. Nothing is installed into your system Python.
- Use your ComfyUI folder: StableGen installs packages into a ComfyUI you already have, and starts and stops it. It also works with a ComfyUI that runs on your system Python.
- Connect to a server, as before. This stays the default.
Packages are grouped by what they are for (texturing, mesh, PBR, rigging). They install with progress and download speed, can be queued, and can be removed again. Downloads resume after an interruption and are checked when they finish. A ComfyUI that StableGen manages starts in the background when the panel needs it and stops when Blender quits, unless you keep it running. The footer shows when ComfyUI is starting and has its log and Restart.
When the selected architecture's models are missing, an Install line appears under Architecture and downloads them in place.
StableGen's own ComfyUI has been tested on Windows so far. The command-line installer still works as before, for servers and pods.
TRELLIS.2 on ComfyUI's native nodes
TRELLIS.2 now runs on the nodes built into ComfyUI 0.42 and newer, instead of the ComfyUI-TRELLIS2 custom node. It no longer needs separate Python environments, compiled extensions or NVIDIA's nvdiffrast, and its mesh post-processing is faster.
- QDC remeshing and server decimation run in the same ComfyUI graph as the generation.
- Auto-rigging runs as a second step through SkinTokens.
- The TRELLIS.2 presets now texture with Qwen Image 2.1. The mesh-only preset is called Mesh only.
- TRELLIS.2 starts from a prompt, with the preview gallery on.
- The precision and attention settings are gone along with the custom node.
Mesh tools
LATO.2 low-poly remesh
LATO.2 rebuilds a dense mesh with generated low-poly topology, 200 to 5000 vertices, on the ComfyUI server. It is on the Tools page for any selected mesh and imports the result next to the source. It is also a TRELLIS.2 remesh method. It needs an NVIDIA GPU and installer package 18.
Make Solid
TRELLIS.2 meshes are double-walled: a large share of their faces sit inside, where no one sees them. Make Solid now finds them with a flood fill from the outside instead of raycasts. It keeps every face that is visible from enough directions and removes the rest. Close Bottom Openings treats the underside as closed, so a hollow mesh that is open at the bottom becomes solid with a capped bottom.
Post-processing an existing mesh
Post-Process Active Mesh applies the Mesh post-processing settings to a mesh you already have, including QDC remeshing, server decimation and LATO.2, and replaces its geometry in place. The object keeps its transform, modifiers, materials and shading. UVs and textures don't carry over the server steps. The tool has a button in the Mesh post-processing card.
Object prompts

Describe an object once, and with Use object prompts on, its prompt is added to every view that sees it, largest object first. An open camera card lists the objects in its view with their share of it, outlines the one you describe, and edits its prompt. A closed card shows its described objects as tags.
The prompt field also says what it is for: its label and example text follow the mode (new texture, refine, local edit or Masked Edit). When TRELLIS.2 generates from an image, the panel shows that image instead of the prompt.
Projection
- Object-Relative Projection keeps a texture intact when its object moves, rotates or scales after projection, or when a camera moves or another object is added. The projected images always stay on the mesh, but which camera colours each point was worked out from the cameras' positions in the scene, so moving an object afterwards left black patches and mixed-up views. Object-relative projection works it out from where the cameras were relative to the object. It is off by default and needs Blender 5.1 or later.
- Softer seams: every view now fades at the edge of its image frame, and Prioritize Earlier Views blends along a smooth curve instead of a clamp.
- Masked Edit and Refine can follow a reference image, such as a logo or a print.
- Masked Edits survive Reproject and Regenerate Selected, and are projected again from where their view was taken.
- Confidence-Gated Context has its name back and trusts context from 0.5. Its boundary cleanup and expansion work with gating on or off.
- Qwen Image 2.1's native RGBA output is off by default. Nearly transparent pixels no longer project as black or magenta specks.
- All objects of a run share one projection material, so it builds and compiles once.
- The Diagnostics displays switch in under a second (View colors: 16.7 s to 0.03 s on a scene with six views and ten meshes), and debug settings are on by default.
Panel
- Number fields work like Blender's, and the scrollbar can be dragged (#122).
- Switching the architecture applies the new architecture's matching preset, and an emptied number field takes the value from the architecture's first preset.
- ComfyUI's reason for refusing a workflow is shown, such as a missing model or node, instead of "HTTP Error 400" (#126).
Fixes
- Blender 4.5 crashed when the architecture was switched in the panel (#126).
- Each Add Cameras run raised the resolution further, and deleting a camera raised errors while view labels were shown (#129).
- Refine failed with a
Color2error on models with their own materials (#113, #121). - Mirroring the last projection across Y projected it upside down (#117).
- Baking again replaced the images and UV layouts of earlier bakes.
- Objects that use several material slots baked only the first material.
- Baked normal maps were decoded with the wrong tangents. Bakes from earlier versions are repaired when the file opens.
- A later projection overwrote a bake.
- Regenerate Selected after Bake Textures failed with "index 0 out of range" (#113), and it took its context from a bake or a Masked Edit layer.
- A dropped connection to a remote ComfyUI failed views that were still running.
- The panel showed a running generation as idle after a server check.
- The installer crashed on Windows with a non-English locale and a folder name that isn't ASCII.
