Hello, I developed this project entirely with my own resources and effort. I am genuinely curious about your thoughts and especially your feedback regarding the model.
Here is what my work is about: I have created an architecture that gives LLMs artificial emotions and instinctive behavior patterns based on the hormone and neurotransmitter dynamics of the human brain. This model produces an emotional layer that influences the hidden and output layers of the network, allowing the LLM to suppress or reshape its own decisions according to its emotional state.
The project is called Synthetic Cortex. The system integrates artificial emotions and instinctive behavior patterns into large language models, taking inspiration from the human cerebral cortex. To achieve this, I hybridized the neural structure of the LLM with mathematical models of hormone and neurotransmitter activity.
The first version, L1, performed far better than expected. We then moved to Phase 2, but had to pause development due to limited funding. The demo version, L1.5, runs locally on my device. The indicators represent emotional values, essentially hormone and neurotransmitter releases. The arc charts show their time-dependent changes derived through calculus.
By observing these variations, we can trigger instinctive behavior patterns. Emotions manipulate and reconstruct the output. For example, when hormones linked to motivation increase, the output layer dynamically reweights itself. However, when the rate of change crosses a certain threshold, emotion-driven outputs are redefined by instinctive protocols, which can dominate up to around 30 percent.
