PaCE (PAderborn Control system for economic Experiments) is a software framework for experimental economics. This software package allows to use, adapt, combine or improve existing economic experimental software develop and to carry out economic experiments. This program uses a plug-in interface system to integrate any existing web- or (.net) windows-based software to deliver all features that are needed in in design and implementation of economic experiments.
Based on the requirements to integrate the existing software "z-tree" (Urs Fischbacher (2007): z-Tree: Zurich Toolbox for Ready-made Economic Experiments, Experimental Economics 10(2), 171-178.) in order to retain its reputation, PaCE is a framework to add missing features to closed source software. PaCE is a client- / server-software built on .Net 4.0-Framework and ClickOnce-Deployment programmed for controling economic experimental laboratories based on a Microsoft Windows architecture. In contrast to other software-frameworks for economic experiments, Pace is not mainly built to replace other frameworks like:
