Seeing Black/White

  1. Make sure that you have Flash player installed for “other browsers.” Installation page: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/
  2. Make sure that the playx_jw_url cvar on the server is set to http://playx.googlecode.com/svn/jwplayer/player.swf
  3. Make sure that the playx_host_url cvar on the server is set to http://sk89q.github.com/playx/host/host.html
  4. Go to http://sk89q.github.com/playx/host/host.html in your browser and check to see if it is working.
  5. Go to http://playx.googlecode.com/svn/jwplayer/player.swf in your browser and check to see if it tries to download something (don’t accept it). Sometimes the site that hosts that file is unavailable.

If you are still having trouble, please post on the Facepunch thread for PlayX.

Crash Issues

If you always crash when a YouTube video is played, then you will have to wait until Valve fixes the issue.

Nevertheless, in case there is a workaround or there is a similarity in cases, please post about your problem on the Facepunch thread for PlayX. Include information about your CPU, your graphics card, your Windows version/operating system, and whether your CPU is 32-bit or 64-bit.
