Unable to resolve dependency for ':app@debug/compileClasspath': Could not resolve com.github.smarteist:autoimageslider:1.4.0.

Just to notify that since I migrated to Gradle 7.0.2 and Android Studion Arctic 2020.3.1 Patch 2 I am having this problem where when I add the library of "com.github.smarteist:autoimageslider:1.4.0." nothing works.

Hi
I had been able to solve the problem. I realized that the library was not recognized on mavenCetral () but rather recognized with jcenter (). And so, I added the url of jetpack.io in the settings.gradle section then when I synchronized everything was good.

• jcenter()
• maven {
  url "https://jitpack.io"
  }
  in the settings.gradle file as in the image present in the previous answer.

Your Gradle seems to be offline. It must be activated so that it is online and will be able to download the library.

1- Click on Gradle on the right menu of Android Studio.
2- Then click on the toggle to activate it.

When it's greyed out, it's offline.
Otherwise it is online.

Finally I managed to solve this error . It was a silly mistake by me . By the way thanks for your support @Paridel .
