I waited to start texturing until after I was finished with my greybox , just to limit the work I would have to do on texture scale and orientation.
I used a wide variety of textures from different WADs to create an environment I felt worked with my theme. I still had trouble finding some more detailed textures that looked nice in the rooms I created, and while texturing I felt that I could have used more varied architecture in the greyboxing stage.
In this first area, I wanted a modern-industrial look with a brick foundation and dark metal accents.
For the final room, I used very barebones (literally) materials to show that the area was created hastily and with significantly less advanced technology, implying other forces were at hand.
For the factory, I wanted a lot of rusted metal and concrete, showing off the pure practicality of the space without any frills.
