Record and screenshot an iPhone or iPad connected by cable.
- iPhone and iPad in the menu: plug in a device, unlock it and tap Trust. Record ‹device› and Screenshot ‹device› appear in the menu, and go away when you unplug it.
- Live device window: Record ‹device› opens a window with the device's screen. Record, Stop, Screenshot and a Sound switch for the app's own sounds are at the bottom; the menu-bar timer and the stop shortcut also stop it. If the device rotates, the recording keeps its first orientation.
- Full resolution: recordings and screenshots are at the device's own resolution and go through the same preview, trim, export and screenshot editor as Mac captures.
- App Store Preview preset: one checkbox exports the size App Store Connect accepts for the device (886 × 1920 for current iPhones, 1080 × 1920 for iPhones with a Home button, 1200 × 1600 for iPad), H.264 at 30 fps with stereo sound, and warns if the clip isn't 15–30 seconds. It's on by default for device recordings and offered for any portrait clip, such as a Simulator window.
- macOS lists connected devices as cameras, so Tinycap asks for Camera access the first time you use one. It never uses your Mac's own camera.
