It looks to me as if spack spec does not distinguish between external packages and binary cache.
Is there a way to show the source of the package (marked with [e])?
Maybe we can also distinguish between local external and upstream external?
Btw, the help does not describe [e]
$ spack spec --help
<...>
-I, --install-status show install status of packages
[+] installed [^] installed in an upstream
- not installed [-] missing dep of installed package
<..>
