spekterm 0.2.14
spekterm 0.2.14 adds remote access: the spekterm app on your phone can reach spekterm on your computer
directly, with no account, relay or push service. It also brings a Settings dialog with sections, status
dots for agent sessions, and scheduled handoffs. This is the first release since 0.2.4.
New
-
Remote access (pair your phone) — off until you turn it on in Settings → Remote access. A paired
phone connects straight to your computer over TLS on one port, pinning spekterm's self-signed
certificate; each device has its own credential, which you can revoke. From the phone you can:- see every folder and session, read an agent's conversation and reply to it, with photos and files
attached; - answer an agent's permission prompts, questions and plans (spekterm presses the keys, one at a time,
and checks before each that the prompt is still the same one); - start, wake, rename, hibernate and close sessions, and answer an agent's offer to close its own;
- handle the inbox, including sending an accepted item's filled-in first prompt;
- follow your handoffs, see an agent's background tasks, and browse your OpenSpec changes;
- be told when an agent waits for you.
A paired phone can type into your sessions, so treat it like your keyboard. See
Remote access. The Android app is built against
the protocol indocs/remote-protocol.md. - see every folder and session, read an agent's conversation and reply to it, with photos and files
-
Settings with sections — General, Terminal, Agents & sessions, Integrations, Remote access and
About in one dialog. A change applies when you make it; there is no Save button. -
Is the agent working or waiting for you? Each agent session shows a status dot: working, waiting
for you, asking for a choice, or idle. "Waiting" stays until you look at the session. -
Scheduled handoffs — an agent can hand work off for a later time (
"at"): it waits in the inbox
and opens when due, or at the next start. The agent learns what became of each handoff from a receipt
(accepted, scheduled, duplicate, rejected, held). -
Agents can close, hibernate or rename their own session and the sessions they handed off. Closing
its own session is only offered to you, with Close and Keep.
Fixed
- The side panel follows an
openspec/folder created while the app runs. - The conversation view shows what the agent really received and is doing.
- Linux: the desktop entries name the window class the main window really has (
spekterm), so the
desktop can match the window to its entry. - The inbox's secondary text and the conversation cards' background used colours that were never
defined; the activity bar marked every entry as current; the rail's hover controls left a repo's name
only a few characters wide.
Known limitations
- Remote access needs the phone to reach your computer: the same network, Tailscale, or a port you
forward. There is no relay. - macOS: a session's working directory is not read, so restored shells restart in their folder and the
status bar shows no directory or git state (#67); idle shells are not hibernated automatically (#68);
the font setting offers only the system default (#69);Ctrl+↑/Ctrl+↓are taken by Mission
Control (#71). The app is signed ad hoc, not notarized: the first launch needs System Settings →
Privacy & Security → Open Anyway, and after an update macOS may ask again for permissions you granted
before. - No Windows or Intel Mac builds, and no auto-update: download the new version from this page
(install guide).
