Hi, I'm Mike (just3ws). I’m the creator and lead engineer of Phalanx Duel, an open-source (GPL-3.0) tactical 1v1 card combat game built with a commitment to architectural integrity and operational excellence.

⚔️ Why Phalanx Duel?

Most digital card games are "black boxes"—you trust the server, but you can’t verify the logic. I’m building Phalanx Duel to prove that web games can be as robust,
observable, and transparent as mission-critical enterprise systems.

The project is an engineering showcase featuring:

  • Deterministic Rules Engine: A pure TypeScript engine where every outcome is provably fair and verifiable via an append-only action ledger.
  • OTel-Native Observability: Full-stack telemetry (browser to server) using the Grafana LGTM stack to ensure every match is performant and traceable.
  • AI-Agent Ready (MCP): A built-in Model Context Protocol server that allows AI agents to interact with the engine natively—paving the way for the next era of
    agentic gameplay.
  • "Caveman" Workflow: A high-velocity development model that prioritizes host-native speed without sacrificing containerized verification parity.
