After checking the code, I found that the property is used in auto configuration.

For example, in /auto-configurations/models/spring-ai-autoconfigure-model-openai/src/main/java/org/springframework/ai/model/openai/autoconfigure/OpenAiChatAutoConfiguration.java, you can see the following code:

@ConditionalOnProperty(name = SpringAIModelProperties.CHAT_MODEL, havingValue = SpringAIModels.OPENAI, matchIfMissing = true)

If the model name is not specified in spring.ai.model.chat property, the auto configuration will not be triggered due to the ConditionalOnProperty anotation.

Thanks for reporting this issue. Since those properties are only used for conditional statements in Spring Boot, they don't exist as Java classes. However, the metadata were missing (reason why IntelliJ doesn't recognise them) as well as documentation about adopting this new properties. Both of those issue have been addressed in #2931, part of the current snapshot and included in the upcoming 1.0.0-M8 release.
