The exception happens when the code is trying to look for the existing keys. If I use Redisson to lock the object instead of Jedis-lock, everything works well.

Client read times out: SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out. This can be caused by various issues, most likely high load on your Redis server, a network partition or your server crashed. Nothing we can fix here

@Mark, Same exception is not happening when we use Redisson to do the locking. I also believe load is not the issue or network partition. I could reproduce it whenever I lock an object using Jedis-lock and try to read the same from spring-data-redis and jedis

Redisson uses non-blocking I/O which does not has the notion of a read timeout. You might want to adjust your timeouts when using Jedis. Alternatively, use Lettuce with Spring Data Redis.

Not sure what you mean with Jedis-lock. Not seeing a lock in here and Spring Data Redis isn't using the Jedis-lock library. The stack trace shows there's pooling and SSL involved. You might file an issue along a reproducible test case at Jedis' issue tracker

Does lettuce offer lock feature?. I already raised an issue with Jedis and they closed the issue saying I should raise it here:(

Sorry for the ping-pong. Lettuce is a pure driver like Jedis but Lettuce uses netty and non-blocking I/O which should not cause read timeouts. I added a comment to redis/jedis#1709
