Search Debug adds a permission-gated overlay to the Spryker storefront search results page: the real Elasticsearch/OpenSearch _score per product, which query tokens matched, and — one click deeper — the exact BM25 boost/idf/tf numbers behind each match. Every query token also links to its own analysis-path trace, showing exactly how the shopper's typed words became a search token. No more "because Elasticsearch said so."

Verified, not just claimed:

  • Explanation parsing cross-validated against 3 engines across 2 Lucene generations — OpenSearch 1.3.4/8.10.1, OpenSearch 2.11.0/9.7.0, Elasticsearch 8.11.0/9.8.0 — byte-identical output where it matters, and a real Lucene wording change (8.10→9.7) survived unbroken thanks to prefix-based matching.
  • 226 tests, phpcs and phpstan level 6 clean, dependency floors verified at their oldest allowed versions via a repeatable composer check-floors script.
  • Standalone by design: no hard dependency on any other community package; the whole install is registration-only, nothing auto-activates.
