Loopcut 0.2.21 (beta)
Loopcut 0.2.21 beta · 26 October 2026
If you're on 0.2.11 or newer, this installs itself the next time you close Blender. From older versions, click "Restart to update".
New
- More models with your ChatGPT plan. The model button in Loopcut's panel now lists the models your plan offers, GPT-6.1 Terra included, and you can set how hard it thinks, from Low to Max, right there.
Known issues
- The Mac build isn't notarized yet, so macOS asks you to confirm the first open: System Settings > Privacy & Security > Open Anyway.
- Windows: if "Windows protected your PC" still appears while our signature builds trust, choose More info > Run anyway.
Loopcut 0.2.20 (beta)
Loopcut 0.2.20 beta · 26 October 2026
If you're on 0.2.11 or newer, this installs itself the next time you close Blender. From older versions, click "Restart to update".
New
- Loopcut uses its cloud tools when they make the result better. Ask for a realistic battle axe and it can make a picture, turn it into 3D and clean up the mesh, telling you what it will do and what it costs as it starts. A trailer shot gets ambience sound. Paid steps up to 100 credits run without asking; choose "Ask me first" or "Only when I ask" in Loopcut's preferences to change that.
- Your own Google Gemini or Kimi Code key can now be picked from the list, and Loopcut checks a key when you save it, so a wrong key or model is named right away.
- Cloud or this computer, for renders here too. Before a long render on your computer, Loopcut shows how long it would take and offers the cloud instead.
- Replies start with a summary. What Loopcut checked folds into one line you can open.
- Loopcut opens with every file. Opening a project no longer hides it, and if you close it, Open Loopcut at the top right of Blender brings it back.
Fixed
- Canceling a job you approved now asks you first.
- "Done" shows what a cloud job really charged, and what's held while it runs.
- A finished cloud job whose files didn't download says so: they wait in the cloud, at no new charge.
- Cloud renders: Open the MP4 says where it opened, previews show whole frames, and a finished render shows as Ready in Background jobs.
- Clearer error cards, and tooltips no longer cover a card's buttons.
- Setup's privacy screen now says a cloud render sends a copy of the scene.
- Long tool results are trimmed for the model, which reads the rest only when it needs it.
Known issues
- The Mac build isn't notarized yet, so macOS asks you to confirm the first open: System Settings > Privacy & Security > Open Anyway.
- Windows: if "Windows protected your PC" still appears while our signature builds trust, choose More info > Run anyway.
Loopcut 0.2.19 (beta)
Loopcut 0.2.19 beta · 26 October 2026
If you're on 0.2.11 or newer, this installs itself the next time you close Blender. From older versions, click "Restart to update".
New
- No photo to turn into 3D? Loopcut makes one. Ask for a photo-to-3D model without a picture of your own, and Loopcut offers to make the picture first. When you like it, one click on "Turn it into 3D" makes the model, and each step shows its price.
- Cloud renders keep going after you quit Blender. Close Blender while a cloud render runs and open the file later: the frames and the video are waiting in your chat, with previews. If Blender is still open when it finishes, the result shows up in the chat right away.
- Cloud or this computer? When Loopcut is about to render a long animation in the cloud, it shows how long the same frames would take on your computer and what the cloud costs, so you can choose.
- A Stop button while Loopcut is working.
- On Mac, programs Loopcut leaves running in the background now show in Background jobs, with how long they've run and a Stop button. Quitting Blender stops them.
Fixed
- Esc and Enter only answer a card you can see. Before, a card that hadn't appeared yet could be declined or approved by accident.
- When a paid tool needs more credits than you have, Loopcut shows your options right there instead of a dead end.
- Asset searches with style words like "realistic" now find real matches.
- Exact quotes in Japanese, Chinese and Korean are recognised as your words.
- A render on this computer with a missing texture still renders and tells you what was missing.
- Clearer progress: each running step shows how long it has taken, Loopcut says so when several steps in a row fail, and a command that leaves a program running in the background tells you.
- After you say no, Loopcut asks what you'd like instead of carrying on.
- A cloud job our server was slow to answer is no longer reported as failed, so Loopcut waits for it instead of starting (and charging) a second one.
- "Trial credits added" only shows for a new trial, not after reinstalling.
Known issues
- The Mac build isn't notarized yet, so macOS asks you to confirm the first open: System Settings > Privacy & Security > Open Anyway.
- Windows: if "Windows protected your PC" still appears while our signature builds trust, choose More info > Run anyway.
Loopcut 0.2.18 (beta)
Loopcut 0.2.18 beta · 26 October 2026
If you're on 0.2.11 or newer, this installs itself the next time you close Blender. From older versions, click "Restart to update".
New
- A step that freezes Blender stops after 30 seconds. What it changed so far stays, and one Undo removes it. A step that left an object in Edit Mode goes back to Object Mode. You can change the limit in Loopcut's preferences (Stop code after).
- A request that stops making progress ends after 15 minutes and offers Try again. After 2 minutes with nothing new, a short line says Loopcut is still waiting. A chat that was cut off because Blender closed or crashed opens with Try again.
- Loopcut checks that what it says moves really moves. If the last reply says something spins, orbits or flies and it doesn't, Loopcut asks for the animation once, then tells you if it still doesn't move.
- On the free plan, a very long request stops at a step limit and says so, so one request can't use up your credits on its own.
Fixed
- Undo right after a Loopcut step no longer crashes Blender, and one Undo takes out exactly that step. Edit > Undo History names each step.
- Fewer dropped connections. Requests are smaller, a request your network dropped says so plainly, and Stop works at once, even while Loopcut is still waiting for a reply.
- Pressed Stop by mistake? Say "continue" and Loopcut carries on.
- Replies in your language. If Blender's interface is in another language but you write in English, the reply is in English.
- Updated while Blender was open? Loopcut now asks you to restart Blender instead of failing.
- ChatGPT plan: an error from ChatGPT is retried, then shows Try again.
- With your own key, GPT models no longer fill every tool option with placeholder values.
- Step prices show what a step really costs: about 0.2 credits, not "≈1".
- Asset searches use far fewer tokens.
- Cost warnings: one notice per step, and small savings no longer switch your modifiers off.
- Smaller fixes: after framing the camera, Loopcut looks through it; attached images are listed newest first; a second check in one reply says what it measured.
Known issues
- The Mac build isn't notarized yet, so macOS asks you to confirm the first open: System Settings > Privacy & Security > Open Anyway.
- Windows: if "Windows protected your PC" still appears while our signature builds trust, choose More info > Run anyway.
Loopcut 0.2.17 (beta)
Loopcut 0.2.17 beta · 25 October 2026
If you're on 0.2.11 or newer, this installs itself the next time you close Blender. From older versions, click "Restart to update".
New
- Replies in your language. If Blender's interface is set to another language, Loopcut answers in it, unless you write in a different one. Step titles follow the language you write in, and long chats keep it after they're summarized.
- Approval cards lead with what the step does. The code is one click away under Show code.
Fixed
- No more invented steps. Loopcut keeps its record of earlier steps in a form the AI can't copy as if it had run them. Old replies that described work that never ran now show as not run.
- Try again when the connection drops. A dropped connection or a busy model now retries on its own, then shows a Try again button. Your message is kept, so you don't have to type it again.
- Stuck loops stop sooner. A request that keeps repeating the same steps without changing the scene now stops and says so.
- Helpers work together better. While helpers are still building, Loopcut waits for them instead of building the same thing again, and parts that sit inside each other (rings around a planet, a ship in a bottle) are no longer refused. When helpers finish after the reply, you get a short note on what they added instead of a second summary.
- Clearer messages. Network errors read as network errors, and saving a brand-new file asks where to put it.
- Your own changes only. Loopcut's own screenshots no longer show up as changes you made.
- Credit estimates match real builds, and the treasure chest card says its first step can take a minute or two.
Known issues
- The Mac build isn't notarized yet, so macOS asks you to confirm the first open: System Settings > Privacy & Security > Open Anyway.
- Windows: if "Windows protected your PC" still appears while our signature builds trust, choose More info > Run anyway.
Loopcut 0.2.15 (beta)
Loopcut 0.2.15 beta · 24 October 2026
If you're on 0.2.11 or newer, this installs itself the next time you close Blender. From older versions, click "Restart to update".
Credits accounts
- Try it cards are free, including the AI's steps around them.
- 25 free credits every week, shown in setup and when you run out.
- Clearer prices: credits with their dollar value and about how many builds they buy, and a heads-up before you run out.
- Nothing is lost when you run out: a stopped request has a Continue button that picks it up once you have credits again.
Fixed
- No made-up progress. If the AI writes out its steps instead of running them, Loopcut removes them and asks it once to really run them. If it still doesn't, you're told plainly that nothing ran.
- Helpers' changes land where they should. Weight-only edits from a helper now reach your scene (or you're told they didn't), and helper plans that conflict with what you asked to keep stop with a plain message instead of quietly dropping work.
- The change list shows only your scene's changes, not chat preview images or empty helper groups.
Known issues
- The Mac build isn't notarized yet, so macOS asks you to confirm the first open: System Settings > Privacy & Security > Open Anyway.
- Windows: if "Windows protected your PC" still appears while our signature builds trust, choose More info > Run anyway.
Loopcut 0.2.14 (beta)
Loopcut 0.2.14 beta · 23 October 2026
If you're on 0.2.11 or newer, this installs itself the next time you close Blender. From older versions, click "Restart to update".
New
- New sign-ups may see a new setup tour of everything Loopcut does, an option to chat for 0 credits with your own AI, and clearer out-of-credits and out-of-allowance cards.
Improved
- Asset picks by number. Search results are numbered, and Loopcut imports the one it picked instead of retyping a long id.
- Loopcut follows through. When it says what it will do next, it does it in the same turn instead of stopping there.
- No dead ends on libraries without a key. A search in a library that needs an API key you haven't added searches the free libraries instead.
Fixed
- Cleaner replies in the panel. Headings, quotes and dividers no longer show raw Markdown symbols.
Known issues
- The Mac build isn't notarized yet, so macOS asks you to confirm the first open: System Settings > Privacy & Security > Open Anyway.
- Windows: if "Windows protected your PC" still appears while our signature builds trust, choose More info > Run anyway.
Loopcut 0.2.13 (beta)
Loopcut 0.2.13 beta · 23 October 2026
If you're on 0.2.11 or 0.2.12, this installs itself the next time you close Blender. From older versions, click "Restart to update".
Improved
- Honest "done". Loopcut no longer says work is done when nothing actually ran. It does the work, or says plainly that nothing was done.
- Plain check results. If parts move after a check, Loopcut checks them again before saying they fit, and results read "Passed" or "Failed" in plain words.
- Helper updates say what really happened: finished, stopped by you, waiting for your OK, or only partly added.
- Helper previews show what that helper is building, not the whole scene from far away. A helper still waiting for its first reply says so.
Fixed
- Imported models land on the ground at your 3D cursor and come into view.
- The credits and chat usage line no longer covers the message box.
- No false red error when Loopcut corrects its own helper request.
Known issues
- The Mac build isn't notarized yet, so macOS asks you to confirm the first open: System Settings > Privacy & Security > Open Anyway.
- Windows: if "Windows protected your PC" still appears while our signature builds trust, choose More info > Run anyway.
Loopcut 0.2.12 (beta)
Loopcut 0.2.12 beta · 23 October 2026
If you're on 0.2.11, this installs itself the next time you close Blender. From older versions, click "Restart to update".
Improved
- Clearer messages while Loopcut builds. When a code step needs another try, Loopcut says it's fixing it instead of showing a red error, and it tells you afterwards if that step had already changed your scene. Change lists start with a short summary.
- Notes reach the right helper. A note you type while helpers work now says which helper read it, instead of a vague "queued". A helper plan that needs a second try reads as being adjusted, not as an error.
- Previews open right in the panel, not in new windows. Finished image cards keep their "Open image" button.
- A better "Photo to 3D model" Try it card. It now turns a photo of a dwarf warrior into a detailed, textured model.
Fixed
- ChatGPT setup no longer says "Couldn't reach ChatGPT" when you're online. Loopcut's ChatGPT check now runs even when Blender's "Allow Online Access" setting is off. If your plan doesn't include the default model, setup picks one it does include.
- Models from cloud tools get plain names. Parts of a generated model are named after the result (for example "… mesh" and "… material") instead of long codes.
Known issues
- The Mac build isn't notarized yet, so macOS asks you to confirm the first open: System Settings > Privacy & Security > Open Anyway.
- Windows: if "Windows protected your PC" still appears while our signature builds trust, choose More info > Run anyway.
Loopcut v0.2.11 (beta)
Loopcut 0.2.11 beta · 23 October 2026
From this version on, updates install themselves when you close Blender. To get here, click "Restart to update" one last time.
New
- Updates install when you close Blender. When a new version is ready, Loopcut installs it the next time you quit, and you open the new version next time. If it's ready when you start Blender with nothing open, Loopcut offers to restart into it right away, with a Not now button. It never restarts while you have unsaved work or a file open. On Windows you'll see the usual permission prompt after you close Blender.
Fixed
- The "Photo to 3D model" Try it card turns the photo into a model straight away, for free, instead of sometimes building something by hand.
- Clearer helper approvals. Approving background helpers now says "Runs in the background (up to 30 minutes). Uses your chat allowance, not credits." Tools have short, plain names, and a helper plan that needed a second try reads as recovered instead of showing raw errors.
- You see your chat allowance before it runs out. From 70% you'll see "Chat: N% of this 5-hour window used" next to your credits, and one warning in your conversation, so the limit is no surprise. Credits pay for cloud tools; chat has its own free allowance that refreshes.
- Updating on Windows waits for Blender to close. Before, the installer could start while Blender was still open or asking you to save.
Known issues
- The Mac build isn't notarized yet, so macOS asks you to confirm the first open: System Settings > Privacy & Security > Open Anyway.
- Windows: if "Windows protected your PC" still appears while our signature builds trust, choose More info > Run anyway.
