Can we prevent SumatraPDF from creating/showing hyperlinks, that are not in the original pdf-file? #5703

It was always a feature of Acrobat but the difference is they have many options to change their users behaviour compared to their suggested options in the ISO standard! SumatraPDF can also be restricted by changing the restrictions file. see |

Thanks. I checked Configure-for-restricted-use which mentions "Here’s a full documentation of available options." But that content says "example", so I don't know, if these are all options. There is an option called "LinkProtocols = http, https, mailto", but I guess that deactivates all hyperlinks, which is not what I'm looking for. I don't know, if you understood, what I actually meant: If a pdf doesn't contain ANY hyperlinks, but the plaintext contains an internet-address, then sumatraPDF creates a hyperlink, that originally is not in the PDF. Open libreoffice-writer or word. Create a text which contains the words |

If there are some strings in plaintext (like
mail@something.comoderwww.something.com)SumatraPDF automatically creates hyperlinks out of these plaintexts. These are not hyperlinks in the pdf-file, these are hyperlinks created/shown by SumatraPDF. If one opens the pdf in other applications (like Adobe Acrobat Reader), those strings remain unclickable plaintext. Can we prevent SumatraPDF from doing that? We don't need this feature and consider it kind of a security issue.Beta Was this translation helpful? Give feedback.
