How can I view completed tasks?

The project page says there are no completed tasks.

I have been using SP for a few weeks, entering tasks into projects and tracking them as I go along. Yesterday, I completed a lot of them, then did the 'finish day' process. Today when I opened SP, none of those are showing up in my completed tasks... How can I view those completed tasks again?

Hey there! Tasks are move to the archive once you click "Finish day" you can view the archive if you hover over the project in question and the select "worklog":

Thank you! Ah I see it. So the flow is to view the worklog, then to click a specific day to view the work items.

Just curious - why have an archiving process at all? Why not just apply a 'hidden' or 'completed' or 'completed-' tag to all completed tasks and have the view hide completed tasks.. that could even preserve the current experience of showing today's completed tasks... And it would remove the need to build and maintain an entire archiving framework. This could also keep the UI clean - as it would just require an additional setting "Show all Tasks" "Hide Completed Tasks" while giving the user the ability to manually "hide" or "show" specific tasks as they like - again without any changes to the backend, all view logic based on tags.

Motivation behind this is - I often 'complete' a task, only to find out there's a follow up ask, and in my workflow I don't want to track as a new task, rather to add a sub-task to an existing task if possible. So having the ability to easily hide/unhide a task would allow me to manage this workflow easily.

The idea is that inspecting old tasks and planning or working on them are two very different modes. I use the archive mainly when I need to make some export of the data, or if I want to review the last week. Other than that I want the old stuff out of my way.

Another reason is performance. The task list offers a lot of functionality. This works well for a up to a couple hundred tasks. But it wouldn't for a 1000. It generally also helps to keep the data compact. There might be other smart ways to do this, but that's how things are now and changing it would require a lot of effort, so there should be very very good reasons for it. :)

I understand your use case and I've encountered the same scenario myself (especially with big jira tasks). There is a search feature planed which might help with this. Maybe something like a "yesterday" view, would also be nice?

If I haven't added any completed work to the project, does that mean I can't view the already completed tasks directly in the software?

Hi together, I like super-productivity a lot and I think I begin to learn how to use it properly. I guess its not intended to use it as note keeping, because I have trouble to find the notes I wrote in the desciptions of tasks moved to archive? If this is as designed I will use my note taking tool instead. @johannesjo Thanks for hints if it possible to view already completed tasks.

Hi! I really like Super Productivity as well, and I recently ran into the same issue. After tasks are moved to the archive, it’s quite hard to review the notes written in their descriptions.

Because of this, I developed a small plugin that allows viewing archived tasks. It’s read-only and mainly meant to help with reviewing past tasks and notes, but hopefully it can solve this problem for others too.

Everyone is welcome to try it out, and I’d be very happy to receive any feedback or suggestions. Thanks a lot for the great app!

Thanks - this way can see the comments! I added it to my plugins! The only Feedback I have is that the CSS styles look different from the rest of the app. However, it is part of my setup now :)

To be honest, I’m not very familiar with HTML/CSS-related development. Most of this plugin was generated by Codex, and I only made some small tweaks on top of that. I’ll try to improve the styles later and make them closer to the rest of the app, but the result might not be perfect.
