S4 Comm Module Firmware

Waterrower has produced different revisions of the S4 Comm Module. You can identify your specific revision number as follows:

• install nRF Connect (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=no.nordicsemi.android.mcp)
• turn on your S4 Comm module
• enable Bluetooth and location services
• start the nRF Connect App
• scan for devices
• connect to "S4 Comm"
• tap on "Device Information"
• then tap on the small arrows right to "Hardware Revision String", "Firmware Revision String" and "Software Revision String"

Please provide theses revision numbers, if you want to report any problems with connecting Coxswain to your Comm Module.

Owners of the S4 Comm Module with software revision 4.0 or 4.1 can update the firmware to version 4.2, to allow Coxswain to utilize the latest rowing features via Bluetooth.

The firmware can be updated as follows:

• download the S4 Comm module firmware (https://github.com/svenmeier/coxswain/blob/master/doc/D52QGF-ap_4.02.00.zip)
• install nRF Connect (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=no.nordicsemi.android.mcp)
• turn on your S4 Comm module
• enable Bluetooth and location services
• start the nRF Connect App
• scan for devices
• connect to "S4 Comm"
• tap "DFU" on the top-right
• confirm "distributed packet (ZIP)" with "OK"
• select the downloaded firmware zip file
• wait for the update to finish.
