some small programs.

  1. donutcount

made with Python 3.3, tkinter

background: Let's say you want to arrange a party and you want to buy donut holes. Of course, you want to save money so you need to calculate the right combination of large, medium, and small boxes that will cost you the least amount of money.

This program calculates the best combo of box sizes (large, med, small) a certain number of donuts to get the best price.
It asks for the number of people you need to feed, as well as how many donuts you think each person will eat. Based on the total number of donuts, your answer will be given.

adapted from here: http://cscircles.cemc.uwaterloo.ca/6d-design/

some notes to myself:
root.bind('< Return >',donutCount) alone doesn't work, but getting Return to work happens if I first make a new function (i.e. def onclick():), make event="None", and execute donutCount() under onclick().

  1. stddev

made with Python 3.3 10/3/14 10:10 pm, est

background: I'm taking this class at UMD called BSCI 441 (Mammalian Physiology Lab) and there's a terrible amount of number-crunching to do because I have to get 3 values each for 7 different parameters (i.e. R-wave amplitude, pulse wave amplitude, Q-T interval; basically, parameters in an ECG) 6 times. That makes 21 x 6, or 126 numbers to deal with. Ugh. And I need the average and standard deviation for each set of 3 numbers. So hopefully this program will help! ^_^

  1. a simple drawing app

made with HTML, CSS(bootstrap), jQuery/javascript - 11/17/15 5:55 pm, est

wow, I've wanted to make something like this for a long time! can't wait to explore what else I can do with the canvas feature of HTML5! some more ideas might involve working with/making 3D objects, etc...

good tutorial here: http://www.williammalone.com/articles/create-html5-canvas-javascript-drawing-app/

try/see it here: http://syncopika.tumblr.com/htmldrawapp

  1. a simple graphing app

made with HTML, CSS(bootstrap), jQuery/javascript

the one here is just a sketch of some components I needed, mainly the part to calculate the equation input by the user. right now the most current version can handle simple quadratic and cubic functions, and only positive constants and coefficients. (as of 08/06/16, not true anymore. it's better! ^_^)
