Snapwell 1.0.3

A maintenance release that polishes the Japanese text in the app. No features were added or removed, and the English text is unchanged.

What's changed

• Wording. The Japanese UI now uses one word for each thing. For example, a grid cell is always "区画", a rule is "ルール", and a window is "ウィンドウ" (one screen had "窓").
• Version. Where the Japanese UI said "版" for a version, it now says "バージョン". This covers the update notices and the messages that appear when a settings file comes from a newer version.
• Sentences. Some messages that read like literal translations or left out the subject now read naturally. For example, "同期の選択" became "同期の設定", and a time-out now says "タイムアウト".

変わったもの

• 用語。 同じものを同じ言葉で呼ぶようにそろえました。たとえば、グリッドの 1 マスは「区画」、アプリごとの決まりは「ルール」、ウィンドウは「ウィンドウ」です（1 か所だけ「窓」と書いていました）。
• バージョン。 バージョンを指していた「版」を「バージョン」に改めました。更新の通知や、新しいバージョンで保存された設定ファイルを読んだときのメッセージが対象です。
• 文。 直訳のように読めたり、主語が抜けていたりしたメッセージを自然な文に直しました。たとえば「同期の選択」は「同期の設定」に、時間切れは「タイムアウト」になりました。

Snapwell 1.0.2

A maintenance release that fixes a bug in Snapwell 1.0.1: every hotkey that includes a modifier key did not respond. No features were added or removed.

What's fixed

• Hotkeys. In 1.0.1, no hotkey that includes Ctrl, Alt, Shift or Win responded. Version 1.0.1 added a check that drops a modifier key still recorded as held after a lock screen or a UAC prompt, by comparing it with the key state Windows reports. That check also dropped the modifier key being pressed at that moment, because Windows has not updated the key state yet when the keyboard hook runs. The check now leaves out the key currently being pressed. Dropping a modifier key that was missed during a lock screen still works as before.

Version 1.0.0 is not affected, because this check was added in 1.0.1.

修正したもの

• ホットキー。 1.0.1 では Ctrl・Alt・Shift・Win を含むホットキーがどれも反応しませんでした。1.0.1 ではロック画面や UAC のあとに押しっぱなしと記録されていた修飾キーを、Windows が報告するキーの状態と照らして捨てる確認を足しています。この確認がそのとき押した修飾キー自身まで捨てていました。キーボードフックが呼ばれる時点では、Windows がまだキーの状態を更新していないためです。確認から今押されているキー自身を外しました。ロック画面の間に取り逃した修飾キーを捨てる動作は、これまでどおりです。

1.0.0 は影響を受けません。この確認は 1.0.1 で足したものです。

Snapwell 1.0.1

A maintenance release for Snapwell 1.0.0. It fixes edge cases found in a full code review of hooks, settings, sync and the overlay. No features were added or removed.

What's fixed

• Hotkeys. A modifier key or key press that was still recorded as held after a lock screen or a UAC prompt is now dropped by checking the key state Windows reports. Checking whether a hotkey is being captured is also limited to once every 50 ms, so it no longer makes a kernel call on every key press.
• Window corners. If the file that remembers the original corner settings is damaged, Snapwell now starts anyway. It moves the file aside as .broken and logs the error.
• Hooks and saved state. Fixed state mismatches and exception handling in the hook thread, and how the cache and the saved-state files are handled.
• Settings window.
  • Closing the window while another dialog is open no longer crashes it.
  • Reloading settings while a reload is already running waits for that reload.
  • Importing a backup is skipped if the values changed while you were confirming.
  • Pages follow a settings file that becomes read-only.
  • A network folder whose free space cannot be read is treated as lacking space.
  • After you choose Update and restart, the settings process now exits. Before, it stayed running, and the updater gave up after waiting 30 seconds for it.
  • The buttons that ask what to do with a duplicate hotkey were too small to read their labels. They now use the same size as other action buttons.
  • The grid gap link check and the Feel preview now behave consistently, including after a theme change.
• Sync. A missing local folder is treated as not existing, not as an error.
• Feel trial. A very small stage is rounded up to a minimum size, and an empty set of throw targets no longer causes an error.
• Launcher and overlay. Presets with no label, and buttons or panels with a size of 0 or less, no longer raise errors. The predicted path is drawn faster.
• Per-app rules. A rule's length is checked before its pattern is built.
• Welcome tour. Fixed the look of the intro stage.

修正したもの

• ホットキー。 ロック画面や UAC のあとに、押したままと記録されていた修飾キーやキーを、Windows が報告するキーの状態と照らして捨てるようにしました。ホットキーの取り込み中かどうかの確認も 50 ms に 1 回にとどめ、キーを押すたびにカーネルを呼ばないようにしました。
• ウィンドウの角。 元の角の設定を覚えておくファイルが壊れていても、Snapwell が起動するようにしました。ファイルは .broken として脇へ移し、エラーを記録します。
• フックと退避ファイル。 フックのスレッドで、状態のずれと例外の扱いを直しました。キャッシュと退避ファイルの扱いも直しました。
• 設定画面。
  • 別のダイアログが開いているときにウィンドウを閉じても、落ちないようにしました。
  • 再読み込みの途中でもう一度読み込むときは、進行中の読み込みを待つようにしました。
  • バックアップの取り込みは、確認している間に値が変わっていたら行いません。
  • 設定ファイルが読み取り専用に変わったときに、各ページが追従するようにしました。
  • 空き容量を読めないネットワークフォルダーは、容量が足りないものとして扱います。
  • 「更新して再起動」を選んだあと、設定画面のプロセスが終了するようにしました。以前は終了せず、更新の進行役が 30 秒待って更新をやめていました。
  • ホットキーが重複したときに選ぶ 3 つのボタンが小さく、文字が読めませんでした。ほかの操作ボタンと同じ大きさにしました。
  • 間隔の連動の判定と「操作感」の試す領域を整えました。テーマを変えたときも同じです。
• 同期。 ローカルのフォルダーが無いときも、エラーではなく未存在として扱います。
• 操作感の試行。 ごく小さい舞台は最小の寸法に丸め、投げ先の候補が空でもエラーにしません。
• ランチャーとオーバーレイ。 文字のないプリセットや、寸法が 0 以下のボタンとパネルで、エラーにならないようにしました。予測線の描画も速くしました。
• アプリごとのルール。 ルールの長さを、パターンを組み立てる前に検査します。
• ようこそ。 導入の舞台の見た目を直しました。

What's included

• Throw to snap. From the speed you let go with, Snapwell predicts where a window would stop and carries it to a zone or a corner with a spring, a magnet and walls. Motion comes from mass, stiffness and damping. Pick one of four feel presets or set the values yourself.
• Grid and gaps. Choose a grid per monitor, such as 8 × 8, and set the gap between windows and the screen margin from 0 to 200 px. Hotkeys grow or shrink the front window one zone at a time.
• Launcher. Ctrl+Alt+Space opens a grid over the monitor. Drag across zones, or pick a preset such as halves, quarters, thirds, center and maximize.
• Arrange. Lay out windows as a grid, a row, a column, or main and stack, on the current monitor, on all monitors, or on up to nine windows you pick in the launcher.
• Snap to a neighbor, move between monitors. Move the front window against a neighbor's edge, or throw it to the next monitor.
• Hotkeys. Every hotkey can be changed in the settings window.
• Per-app rules. Leave an app's windows out, move only their position, or change how their corners are handled.
• Windows' own snapping. Optionally turn off the built-in Snap and replace Win+arrow. Every OS setting Snapwell changes is saved and restored when you turn it off, when Snapwell quits, and at the next start after a crash.
• Settings. A first-run setup with a short intro, import and export, sync through a folder you choose, Japanese and English, and an option to reduce motion.
• Updates. Update checks are off by default. Update and restart downloads a signed package, verifies it, and rolls back if the new version does not start.
• Native on x64 and ARM64. There is no x86 build. No DLL is injected into other apps, and there is no analytics or tracking.

• 投げて吸着。 離した速さから止まる位置を予測し、ばね、磁石、壁でウィンドウを区画や四隅に運びます。動きは質量・剛性・減衰から計算します。操作感は 4 つのプリセットから選ぶか、値を自分で決められます。
• 分割と間隔。 モニターごとに 8 × 8 などのグリッドを選び、ウィンドウの間隔と画面端の余白を 0 から 200 px で決められます。ホットキーで、前面のウィンドウを 1 区画ずつ広げたり縮めたりできます。
• ランチャー。 Ctrl+Alt+Space でモニターにグリッドを重ねます。区画をドラッグするか、半分、1/4、1/3、中央、最大化などのプリセットを選べます。
• 整列。 グリッド、横一列、縦一列、メインとスタックの 4 方式で、現在のモニター、全モニター、ランチャーで選んだ最大 9 件のウィンドウを並べます。
• 隣へ寄せる、モニター間の移動。 前面のウィンドウを隣のウィンドウの辺へ寄せたり、隣のモニターへ投げたりできます。
• ホットキー。 すべてのホットキーを設定画面で変更できます。
• アプリごとのルール。 特定のアプリのウィンドウを対象外にする、位置だけ動かす、角の扱いを変える、を決められます。
• Windows 標準のスナップ。 標準のスナップを止めたり、Win+矢印を置き換えたりできます。変更した OS の設定は退避しておき、オフにしたとき、終了したとき、異常終了後の次の起動で元に戻します。
• 設定。 短い導入つきの初回セットアップ、インポートとエクスポート、選んだフォルダーを通した同期、日本語と英語、動きを減らす設定があります。
• 更新。 更新の確認は既定で無効です。「更新して再起動」は、署名つきの配布ファイルをダウンロードして検証し、新しい版が起動しないときは元の版へ戻します。
• x64 と ARM64 のネイティブ版。 x86 は対象外です。他のアプリに DLL を差し込まず、解析やトラッキングもしません。
