I definitely agree that it might be useful to display the widths of chart items more realistically when they don't match perfectly with the display scale's time unit boundaries, though I'm not sure that a minute "zoom" scale would be very useful, if that's what you're suggesting?

For example, on the hour scale, it might be nice to show items as lining up with the closest of the 00, 15, 30, and 45 minute of the quarter-hour, as suggested in #47. Zooming in to see a comparative view the precise minutes of chart items, however, is probably not something that will be added to the plugin, as it isn't really a typical use of a Gantt chart.

If your suggestion is that item durations should be displayed more accurately on existing display scales, please feel free to track that in #47. If you want a "minute" display scale, I would say that will not likely be coming to the plugin anytime soon, if at all.

If you are suggesting something else altogether, please, let me know! Otherwise, I think this issue can be closed. Do you agree?

Thank you for your answer. I suggested this idea, because, like in issue #47, it's difficult to see difference when bar is from 10:00 to 10:59 or from 10:00 to 10:03. The length is exactly the same. I will watch issue #47, and this one can be closed. But one last question. Creating minute scale (or quarter-hour) could be difficult and it needs a lot of code change in many parts of this script? I'm asking because I thought to try create this little (hopefully) modification by myself, but probably it's just my dream.

Due to the current organization of the plugin, creating a "minutes" scale like this is not necessarily difficult work as much as it would be very careful work. At this point it would also involve a lot of code duplication, but basically you'd need to add another case to every switch(settings.scale) statement in the code (there are a few), with appropriate modifications.

On the other hand, it may be easier to just adjust the hours scale view so that it more accurately sets the width of the "progress bars" (chart items) it creates. Maybe see here and here, for starters. Hopefully you can get something you like! (And hopefully this plugin's code will be reorganized to make this kind of change much more easy.. it's on the list!)

Whoops, I did have have the "enhancement" tag on there before and removed it when closing. It's back on there now. I closed the issue because the motivation behind it was covered by another one, and the requestor seemed to agree, but you can definitely reopen the issue if you think it's something that should be in the list. Sorry I didn't ask first!
