Description
This issue tracks the development of TCET Linux's Graphical Environment. TCET Linux needs to have the following development principles in mind.
- Accessibility
- Ability to run on older hardware
Accessibility:
- Assume that target user base knows nothing
- Make each application easy to invoke
- Make installation of packages easier
The core of the operating system should have:
- linux-zen kernel
- zstd compressed mkinitcpio image
- A modern filesystem with fallback option (evaluated btrfs against ext4)
- Zsh Shell with plugins to help users aware of their working directory
- Some kind of automated AUR repository with very basic packages that might be used daily
- Tap to touch for laptops
